This is also true with vids, especially the MCR boards (like in Tron for example). Battery leakage is the cause of many vid/pin problems. You'll spend hours looking over a machine, trying to find the problem. Only to later find that the damn batteries have leaked all over the board (usually the acid leaks behind the battery/battery holder making it hard to see). Thats why it is a good idea to change the batteries every at least once a year (or longer if you buy high quality batteries) to make sure it doesn't happen. And like Sparky said, don't use cheap "dollar store" batteries. Spend $5-10 on new, good quality batteries, or spend hours (or a lot of $$$) fixing a board with battery acid damage. Pretty simple decision I think  |
