If you're wondering why I haven't released either of the two new designs (Haunted House and Williams Factory Logo), it's because some people who ordered the CGCC crest still haven't paid for it  (There's still a few people who haven't picked up their Black Knight crests too).

It may be as simple as they haven't been logged in for awhile, or haven't bothered to follow the thread.

The reality is I'm still owed a significant amount, and my Visa isn't getting paid off.

I have 15 unclaimed CGCC crests if anyone wants them - $6.50 each + $1.18 shipping.



There's still some Black Knight crests left...$7.50 + $1.18 shipping.
There's still some MAACA crests left...$6.50 + $0.53 shipping.

This type of crap makes me seriously consider why I'm doing this.  I have been doing this for you guys - so  you can have something unique.  I pay for them up front.  I'm not making any money out of this.  Yet, I get stuck holding the bag.  It's hardly great incentive for me to make any more.

One of the things I like about your crests (aside from looking great) is that they are definitely collector items. They're super-low run and NO ONE is going to go through the effort to make these ever again. Badges/crests also reflect the times that these pinball machines were released. I used to collect them as a kid I wandered through gun shows with my dad.  

I hope this gets taken care of. I can not wait for a Williams crest

Just a thought going forward Bish, have you ever thought about taking the money up front and not committing to anything until everything is paid in full or at least 90% of the cost or something.  

I mean I feel confident enough, especially now that you are 5 crests in, that once and idea comes out that paying up front wouldn't be an issue and then you wouldn't be left holding the bag.

This is a hobby not a business, please ask people to commit with money before you spend yours. You make serious and very nice job and you need serious buyers for this hobby to be fun.

I think you're right, as much as I hate to do that.  I'd love to go on the premise that people will follow the threads, and be responsible for following through with their committments, but obviously it slips people's minds somewhere along the line.

I'm certainly not saying people have gone out of their way to screw me over, but it's just really frustrating to me...especially given some of the negative PM'd responses I've received so far this morning - it really doesn't make me feel like doing any more.

Agree 100%. You and Sparky need to form a club. I don't get any negative PMs and I'm amazed when folks say they get negative PMs. Who would have the nerve to b**** about this? You are doing service and alot of folks appreciate it.

OK... I know some will get pissed by me writing this, but this is how it goes... here is my take on this.

Whether you agree to buy a 3000$ mame or a crest for 7 bucks, a commitment is a commitment. Bish and I have the same motivation... we do it for the hobby. As for machines, and B1 will probably say the same with him also doing 60-in-1 cabs, we make next to nothing. I won't lie... I make on average less than 10 bucks an hour for my work, if even that. Bish makes NOTHING for his crests, which he pays for by credit... so if commitments aren't met, he is paying part of the bill in the end. We don't need to do this... but we do, because we like it.

Of course, understandibly, there are always situations where money can suddenly get tight and you cannot necessarily go through with your commitment. This happens... but explanations are appreciated, and so is compensation. But this hardly applies in Bish's case... we are talking about on average amounts under 25$. But take 20 people that do that, and Bish is strapped by 500$... it adds up.

But all I will say is this... what goes around comes around, guys. Those who PM Bish with unkind words always get it back in the end. Case in point? I am an honest person and I hate getting lied to, so I don't (as much as possible ) myself. So if someone selling a machine comes up to me and asks me if so-and-so is a reliable person to sell to, and that that seller has pulled a stunt on me in the past, I tell the truth. Sometimes I think I may be going a bit harsh, but then I look at what I have as a collection at home, and look at all the games I have sold due to situations of the sort in order to cover my losses.

I say out the people who are ragging on Bish for this, there is absolutely no excuse to give him a hard time on this.  I know I was a straggler getting my money in and it really just came down to I had forgotten, but I know I was nothing but apologetic when I remembered after Bish posted again.

I DID forget about my CGCC crest commitment, which was rectified as soon as i realized.  and i dunno about anyone else, but i try to throw bish an extra couple of sheckels on a pair of crests for the hard work and organizing he is doing.  Like Sparky says, doing the work on a hobbypays next to nothing.  SUre you get some money for your work, but the massive number of hours that go into these projects is pretty staggering.

Even what i do professionally (guitar repair) there are times when i spend 2-3 hours on an instruement, and know in advance that i can't bill for 10% of my time.... time consuming repairs that take FOREVER!!! (and as a nod to Sparky, the jobs i hate so much are finish work.... hope he is going to enjoy refinishing TMNT)

Bish you should just start pre-pay ordering. I think all of these were less than 10 bucks each when made.
Just charge $10 per crest pre-paid. Keep the change for your efforts buy a coffee or a beer. You deserve it.

Guys, truly, thank you for some of the nice comments you've sent.

I was feeling pretty low yesterday over this.

As I said, I really don't believe people went out of their way to order a crest and then not pay for it.  People forget things, ignore things, get sidetracked.  I just find it frustrating when I put the work into it, pay for it, and then get told to stop whining about getting paid...that they'll get to it when they get to it.  I'm not going to mention names, as I don't think that's reasonable, but the sack of oranges comment made me laugh - a lot.

I have to remind myself that I have many good friends in this hobby that will stick by me, and offer their support when the going gets tough.

  I too would be in for pre paying if it meant the Bish world of crests would continue. Just keep a list and be like Santa only the good Pinners get them . The crests look great and its the only place to get them, so you don't pay you should be out of luck for future ones, also nut jobs who send negative emails after you put money and effort out should get back on the meds.

I think it's a valued service.

Set up a paypal account and have people pay in advance. Just add the service charge to cover the cost. I can't imagine there are many video and pinball collectors that don't have a paypal account given they fact they know that one obscure part they need may end up being on Epay.

I've just about cleared the backlog.  There's 10 CGCC crests available.  Who wants them?

Some of you have been very generous with additional "coffee" money and donations being included.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.  I've applied all of it to the visa balance.  I need to say, although I sincerely appreciate the gesture, I'd be happier just selling the crests.  I don't expect anyone to give me a free ride, and if you made an outright donation, you're entitled to a crest.  Please let me know what you'd like, and where to send it.
