From what I've played, which is no doubt limited compared to you guys and gals: 1 - TZ - Ever since I played TZ years ago, to me it's the one that's impressed me the most; probably helps I'm a fan of the theme. It's been around for a while and still, it seems to show up on most "top 5" lists. 2 - TSPP - just seems like such a huge ruleset that you'll never get bored. 3 - LOTR - huge fan of the movies and to me, they nailed the interpretation 4 - Whirlwind - no idea why, but I fell for that game when played at Medvet's place. Maybe it's the thought of playing it on a hot summer day. I reserve the right to change my mind on this one. 5 - and yeah, Firepower . nostalgia? Who knows? Scared Stiff is probably the game I'd most like to buy, but it seems everyone says "you get bored with it" so it can't go into my top 5. egads! Superman has been knocked out of the top 5? It's still a favorite but I guess I'm at the point where yeah, I need some form of multiball if I'd be stuck with only 1 pin. But if I had the $$$ and space available, Superman, nostalgia or not, would still have a spot. But I can't resist the opportunity to say "why CV?". I don't know, I just don't get it with that game. I find the voice annoying, maybe the art style is too "out there" for me. Whenever I've played that game, I've always had this urge to light some funny weed up, which isn't my cup of tea. I suspect subliminal images in the DMD . I'm probably forgetting a few... Rob |
