My first pin was a TAF. Beat to hell, I sent to playfield out to get CC and touched up and it now looks like a million bucks after all the work I put in. Problem is I never play it and when I do play it I don't really enjoy it. I would much rather have a TSPP as I know that game will hold my interest in the same way LOTR does for years to come but I just can't bring myself to sell the TAF and buy the TSPP. Sentimental value sets in and every time I mention to the GF that I want to sell TAF she gives me this look that makes me feel all that more terrible about wanting to sell the game.
So does anyone else still have there first pin? If they sold it did they regret it?
Sold mine with no regrets, its was a Gottlieb Lights, Camera, Action
However, i'm not shy to mention that i enjoyed it a lot for over a year, sold it eventually because i found better, and still doing the same today with GnR, which has a way bigger emotional value to me than the LCA had, and GnR is also my wife's favourite and the game she wanted me to keep.. oh well, too bad its MY hobby, she is barely playing once every 3 months..
Currently owning: - Solar Fire, Medusa, Flash Gordon, (Centaur), No Fear ------------------

Life is like Pinball!! You never know where you will bounce or where your going but sometimes you have that one amazing shot But on the other hand you have those darn gutter ball where you just get frustrated.
My first pins were a Gorgar and Evel Knevel. Both dead and cheap. The EK was too far gone with serious battery acid damage and the playfield was beat. I sold it as is to a Bally collector.
I got the Gorgar working with help from my Father in Law. Great memories of the game. I sold it a year or so later with a bunch of vids to get my TZ. Obviously, I have no regrets about that decision Cann't believe that was 10 years ago.
I have often thought of getting another Gorgar and, in fact, have bought 2. I really enjoy the game, but only have so much room and it hasn't made the cut.
One of these days I may buy one and actually keep it. Would love to have a Gorgar next to a fully restored BK. Two of the best games from that era.
still regret getting rid of my cftbl. will own one again when i have room for 5+ machines.
to be fair, my pinball skills have increase quite a bit in the past couple years; its possible i'd find creech too shallow on rules. but i think not - creech isn't about finishing the wizard mode, it's about racking up a monster score ... to me it's an old school game with new school looks & dmd.

My first was a Gottlieb "Swing Along" - you had to push a rod to put the ball into the shooter lane. I cut my teeth on it (which was a 14th birthday present from my coinop distributor uncle). I learned to fix EMs by the seat of my pants back then, but had to sell it when I moved out East to go to school. A single EM gets boring after the novelty wears off, but I miss it for nostalgic reasons. My next "first" 20 years later was a Data East "Laser War" and it remains with me at all times ... well , so far.
Whirlwind, loved that game as a kid, so it was what I wanted. But it was to beat up, sold it and lost $300 in the end, but I learned a lot from it. Got the confidence to move into WPC and have been stuck there ever since.
It has been scientifically proven that light is faster than sound. That is why some people seem brilliant........until they open their mouth!
My first was a Mr&Mrs.Pacman which I brought back from the dead. It had no MPU, no solenoid driver, the mylar was bubbled all over the playfield, and lots of wire hacks and mechanical problems. I fixed it all up and sold it to Count a few years later.
I was thrilled to have it until I got it fully running for the first time, and heard the voice say PACMAN! in a helium-loaded voice. It was at that point that I decided to sell it once finished. I still have tons of parts for it. I played it a bit but never got into it.

Kid??? Who you kidding? Or are you talking this Whirl-wind:
My house is a Gottlieb free zone, but that was a good one, I am in my forties, not late fifties.
Hope you are enjoying the Funhouse. Is the gameroom done?
Sadly, the game room is not done. The Funhouse is also not done. Shopped it and put it back together, but I have a couple of wires that are loose and I cann't figure out where they go. I'll get to it. Hope to work on it this weekend. It cleaned up really nice and I cann't wait to place the first game!
