Um... are you sure you were hauling 10000kg? That's 22000 pounds!!! The limit for the Cummins engine is 23000 pounds... but by experience, having worked on many cars and trucks, what the engine and tranny can take VS what the truck can take is a different matter.

Unfortunately, you are not the first person I hear about having problems with Dodge. I have a buddy that had a 97 Ram with the Cummins and the manual tranny, and he kept blowing the synchros on second gear... and he drives super smooth, never beats it, and never towed anything. After his 4th tranny fix in 2 years, a mechanic in the garage said (off the record of course) that Dodge basically puts the same components whether the truck is equipped with the 3.9L V6 or even the Cummins (manual tranny anyways...) and that the tranny has a hard time with the torque.

He also had a steering box problem, drive shaft problem (it let go near the tranny and that end dropped to the pavement at 110km/h... they had to redo the pavement, and Dodge changed his rear axle and truck bed as the shaft smashed almost through the bottom of it), front wheel bearings and tie-rods.

He sold it 2 days prior to the end of his warranty.

I love my Ford F150, this is my third one and other than regular maintenance, barely any issues. Mind you I only haul around pins, not 10,000 Kilo's. Glad to hear no one was hurt.
