Need opinions here.

Due to Thanksgiving and Expo the only two dates for the meeting are either Sat Oct 3 or Sat Oct 24. If we do it on the Sat evening ie starting at 5 pm, it can go until 11 or 12 for just playing pinball also after the meet. The other choice would be Sunday afternoon but it would be limited to the 2-3 hr max due to school night for my son. I know Wayne is coming in on the 3rd but seems like he will be at Jon's around 12 pm but may be too long a pinball day for those with spouses. LMK opinions. I will keep the sys 11 set up for the meeting but they have to go down after the end of Oct for Sebs birthday party and ping pong/floor hockey season .

So, short version - reply to this thread with either Sat Oct 3 or Sat Oct 24 choice with time being 5 pm to 11/12 for OPL meeting and free pinball playtime.

Not that you are catering for me but Oct 3rd is to short notice and Oct 24th is the same weekend as the Canadian Pinball Championship

I'm going to the pinball championship at Starburst on the 24. Oct 3 is when websherpa is dropping his glass off at my house. If we're gonna have a meeting on that day, maybe he should use your house to hand out the glass instead.

Is this meeting open to everyone? If so, I'll put in a vote for the 3rd (sorry to throw a 3rd into all the 24nds   )

Between this thread and the PM's I received, it's the more popular date. The meeting will run from 5 pm until people leave or 12 am whichever comes first . All MAACA members are welcome to join the OPL league if they haven't already. PM me if you are coming and for directions if needed. The lineup will be the sys 11 for sure in the basement and the main floor may end up being the Sterns unless I get energetic and rotate in some new games. The lineup is still the same as my last OPL meeting so might be time for a change . I'll probably keep 24, Elvis, POTC and BSM up. The rest will be a surprise

I'll probably have a small gathering also on the Oct 3 afternoon depending on Wayne's final arrival schedule for glass delivery. It will be just for fun and pending my son's sports schedule etc. I'll post something about it closer to the date. It won't be a late evening on the 3rd tho.

Hope to see some of the new Ottawa members there on the 24th

Oh yea - it was a trade for Nascar early summer after the meeting. Forgot about that. It'll be shopped and waxed by the meeting. Very fun game and all pinballjm's fault!

Keep 24 for sure! It was REAL kind to me last time I was playing it.  Has there been and software upgrades for it yet?

If I may come by Oct 3rd to meet Wayne too if that is ok.

I played a lot of Elvis when it first came out.. loved it.

I have had a setback on the glass delivery, my order won't be ready for Oct. 3rd (appologies), but maybe I can re-coordinate for Oct. 24 to coincide with this event?  I will let everyone know as soon as I do...!

OK everybody - just a reminder that this Sat is the first meeting of the OPL for this season to start the points off again.
Bring a snack to share with everybody and drinks for yourself. I just shopped out MM and Elvis so they are fast and fun. 2 new games came home from Expo and will be set up to play. Also rotating in a few new games from the last meeting so lineup will be changed for those here a few weeks ago.

Shall we keep the same event format as last season? For those who are new - we separate into groups of up to 4 players, each group plays 4 games, and the results (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th) are recorded. Points are awarded, then the ranking used to determine the grouping of the next event. The idea is to put players of similar skill into the same groups. At the end of the season, ranking is used again to determine the starting matchups for a double elimination tournament. The winner gets bragging rights and holds the coveted Pinhead Trophy.

I can not wait. Looks like the wife might even come!!  She will not be playing in the league, just for fun.

This is my first post here so pardon me if I seem a bit nervous!   I've confirmed for Saturday - I'm looking fwd to meeting folks as well as "...the 2 floors of games to play."

I want to be part of the league but I am not able to make it on Saturday.  I look forward to the next meeting.

Can we confirm at what time we'll be starting to play the league games?  I wanna make sure I'm on time .

Usually there is a one hour warm-up. So if everyone is ready we should start playing around 6pm.

I might stop by to see old friends and say a quick hi..  I'm in the area around that time anyway.

A few other members are coming more around the 7-730 range to just play and have fun so lots of socializing tonight also.

On my previous note: as Brett said - practice/warm-up for about 5-6 pm then league play which takes about 1-2 hours depending on how many players. "Meeting" will go until 11 so playing and socializing will be after and any MAACA members that can't make the league but want to come play, you are more than welcome - just LMK you are coming if you haven't already or need address.
Seb and I will be at basketball and then badminton until 430 so don't show up too early  .

Also for any new attendees (there are a few) there are dogs and cats in the house so if you are allergic - take meds!

Friends, I'm going to have to bail out at the last second.  Fought off a bug the last two weeks, one of the flu's going around, my youngest daughter missed 4 days of school this week.  Thought I had shaken it off, felt dead tired a few hours ago, no problem, will have a nap (I am getting old ). Woke up, fever has returned.  I'm not feeling horrible or anything like that, but I don't think I need to spread the germs around, this bug is a doozy and you don't need it.

Really wanted to go too, I miss the meetings and the league

Same as my daughter all of a sudden today, and now I think me too...FRUSTRATING!!!  I'm sure it will be a great time! ( or IS a great time as I write this!!!

Well, last guests just left and great time as always. Met some new members, played my own games like c*** but had a blast visiting with everybody! Sorry about you two (loafer and Jim) not making it but there will be another league night for sure next month.

Huge thanks to Geoff (workingpins) for taking my RFM monitor out for me so I can replace with an LCD. The whole "might electrocute yourself" thing just didn't do it for me so Geoff saved me the hassle. Thanks again!
