For those of you that haven't been there yet, Starburst has moved from their Kipling Ave building to 70 Ronson Dr (Kipling & 401) and are now operating their consumer retail business under the Playdium banner.

I stopped by there today and the new showroom is spacious and beautiful. They now have everything you can imagine for your gameroom out on display and ready for "testing"

I finally had the chance to play some of the newer Stern pins. My experience and opinions are as follows:

POTC - very fun game, great layout, excellent sound and voicework, but I found it much too easy. I played one game over the course of 30 minutes and eventually l let the 3rd ball drain to finish the game.

SMB - Sitting right next to a regular Spiderman (which was turned off), the chrome accents are nice at first glance but I have to say I prefer the original artwork and overall package. Definitely not worth the $500 premium. However, gameplay is excellent on this game and I could see it keeping me coming back for more. 2 thumbs up.

Dale Jr (Nascar) - This game is so cheesy and over-the-top, it's a blast to play! I'd never buy one based on the theme, but out of all the current releases, a non-pinhead friend I was there with liked this game the most.

FG - Not a fan of this game. I've heard it has a nice ruleset, but my first impression with gameplay was that it is clunky and uninspiring. It probably doesn't help that I'm not a fan of the TV show either.

WOF - Pleasantly surprised by this game. Playfield layout is VERY refreshing and a great package overall. I kinda like the theme in this application and think that this title would be a "party" favorite amongst the non-pinhead crowd (next to NASCAR, of course...lol!)

Ultrapin - If you like real pinball machines, this thing is the biggest piece of crap you'll ever come across. Absolutely nothing redeeming about it. Of course, my friend thought it was really cool. Yes, I am now questioning my friendship with him

They also had a few older machines there that I didn't have time to play, but all in all, it was fun spending some time on the newer pin titles and checking out other stuff (vids, pool tables, jukes, Chexx, etc)

If you haven't been to their new location, I highly recommend stopping by.

It is pretty much up in the air if there will be any more auctions. We will see next if they announce another date for the next auction. If they announce a date, they will probably announce a location.

It has been scientifically proven that light is faster than sound. That is why some people seem brilliant........until they open their mouth!
