I often hear people making comment on the music on machines. But I think it is noteworthy to mention the use of lighting on various machines. I am impressed by the use of general illumination (GI) and strobes in some games. I find the vast majority use the strobes to create an effect. One machine that uses all lighting for effects is Party Zone. On the newer machines that use the plastic backbox hooked to a pin connector, there are limited options for variations in the translite illumination. A downfall in what appears to be a cheaper method of production. On PZ the older custom board and bulb arrangement runs a loom of wires into the power driver board. This game has the GI fired off of several circuits. It also has a large distribution of GI with red lens caps paired to the white lights for the GI to turn all red. With the use of multiple strobes, white, red and extensive backboard GI firing on multiple circuits in synchronized patterns, it is really an impressive light show. Combine that with red, white and purple strobes with yellow flashing pop bumpers on a playfield that looks like Candyland on crack and you get a really cool visual experience.
Another really good light sequence is the use of strobes down the sides of NGG. During multiball the strobes rise up with the sound of a jet engine spooling up. Then fire in sequence downward toward you and when they light the last two white ones at the bottom the ball is fired right at you. Good little piece of electronic drama. |

Best Light show I've seen is Williams F-14 (circa 1987 ) .
It's hard to describe, but every bulb gets used in a variety of neat sequences, toppped-off (...no pun intended ) by the three beacon lights on top.
Unfortunately gameplay became too repetitive for me so I sold it, but it's still the best lighting display I've seen on any pin.
Cheers, Steph |

Yeah top off the show with the topper lights. Great feature. That is one of the reasons I would greatly appreciate having a Getaway II. |

He had some concerns about it meeting my expectations and rightly so. I am a really fussy over the condition of machines. As of the last conversation he was uncertain how the project was going to turn out. If it was a project I would buy it and turn it over myself. If it is damn near perfect later production machine I would be greatly interested in putting in my collection for the right price.
And by the way your not an a**. Unless you really really want to be. Then I would be glad to accomodate your request. |

Not every pinball is advertised in Mr. Pinball or RGP.
Just word of mouth. E-mail him if you are interested. He had some other machines for sale I believe.
