A few are looking for multimeters.   The one I use which has worked well for 8+ years is for sale for $24 @ Canadian Tire

I'd like to buy one of Enzo's Flukes he has for sale, but seems hard to justify paying more for my purposes.   I always wanted a yellow DMM though

Cheap or older meters usually have ranges for the different features. Ex. in Volts some meters have a setting for 1-10V and another setting for 10-100 and another for 101-600. You manually have to select the range of voltage you want. With autoranging you only select Volts, the meter automatically sets the range of volts. Easier to use.

It has been scientifically proven that light is faster than sound. That is why some people seem brilliant........until they open their mouth!

Fluke is head and shoulders above the made in China-Tire stuff for $24.

I have gone through 2 or 3 of them.  All crap.  I finally bought a Fluke and have been happy with it (even happy with their service when I had to send it in for repair).

Curious about the Fluke repair.   A friend has offered me a free Fluke that isn't working.   He mentioned there's a "free Fluke replacementer" warranty if you send in the non-working one?    Not really "free" - you have to pay $75 upfront or something.

Autorange means that you don't have to select a range of voltage or resistance to measure. You just touch the leads and the multimeter adjusts itself.

On a manual multimeter, you have to pick a resistance range like 0-20ohms, 20-200ohms, 200-2000ohms, etc...
