They say Bush hates black people... Here's God's answer... Bush being a good ole boy from Texas, you got to admit... God has a fucked up sense of humor!

How does that slogan go? .... Oh yeah... "Everything is bigger in Texas!"

... including the storms! Man... another Force-5...

"Hold on ta yer butts cuz it's gonna rain Ford Explorers!"

...on a serious note, God help those people. I will never complain about shitty weather or winter ever again. If having nice hot weather all year round means having one of those hit your front porch every few years, gimme -30C anyday.

Check out this site for updates... pretty cool stuff on the site too:

Trust me when I say, you do not want to go through one of these... I was on vacation last year and went through a Force-1. 85MPH winds.

Me of course, being an absolute dumb a**, went outside to see how it felt. I stood in between 2 buildings for a little while and felt the blast of the wind. The pic I have included is when I was heading towards where the wind was blowing. After I hit the "wind-zone", my 230lb frame was thrown on it's a** 10 feet away. Of course, Marie missed that pic...

...And this is a Force-5 with 160mph+ winds...

And here is my old post on it...

Whoooaaaaa ....
NOAA now reporting the central pressure of this baby has fallen below 898MB.
This makes Rita the 3rd most intense Hurricane on record. .... 1988's Gilbert
and 1935's Labour Day Hurricanes being the worst.

There goes the price of gasoline again ........... hope everyone makes it out
ok in TX & LA..... I see IPDB has already shut down for the duration.

Seeing as I've been through 2 Cat-1 hurricaines (the last one on my honeymoon no less) I hope everyone in harms way does the right thing and hightails it outta Dodge.  Definately not going to be pretty, especially if it sustains it's current wind speed.

I'll agree with Sparky on this, I'll take the snow and cold over a hurricaine any day.
