My VP just kicked the bucket so I uninsulated it and want to re install.

I have "vpinmame_21.zip"

It seems I need something else as once I install the above file there is no launcher or .exe file?

Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

ok, I got the VP launcher...but can not get it all set up. I can get VP running but it is a different version than I had and I can not find how to launch the game

You need pinmame, Visual Pinball a launcher and the support files. You will additionally need tables for what you wish to play and ROM files for newer games.

I found VP Laucher to be a good ap to get Pinmame and Visual Pinball lauched. You can find it here.

You can get the "essentials" from here which are VBS Scripts and Fonts. Not always required to be updated but it just depends what type of machine your trying to emulate. Best thing is to add the packs just to make sure you have most of them.

You will find Pinmame creates a directory called "Scripts" VBS files go uncompressed there.
You will also find that under Visual Pinball there is the "Tables" folder. Uncompressed VBS scripts and uncompressed .vpt table go there.
You will need to leave the ROM's compressed for them to work. I repeat do not uncompress them. The ROM's are downloaded from ipdb.org. The tables .vpt tables file from a place that has hosts the tables like VP Forums etc.

You have to run the VP setup program and identify the folder locations that contain the various support files. This will vary depending on what directory tree structure you put it under.
