have a truck and would help me ?

Currently bidding on an auction to win a nice SNK Neo 29 but the guy doesn't want to ship to canada (moron).

My only option would be to get my a** to New York to pick up the little beauty and then get back home.

Of course, moneraty compensation is offered

Recommendation: Have him ship the thing close to the border, like a UPS store in Plattsburg... I have heard a ton of people do this to save border fees. They declare it to be worth a few bucks...

Retiring soon...

Maybe you could rent a u-haul truck and go get it. Depending on how far you are, should only be a day trip to go pick it up and come back.

Oh, as a precaution. Be sure to have all the paperwork filled out before you come back over the border. Came over the border without one piece of paper once. Ended up sitting at border over two hours trying to get things sorted out. Damn red tape.

Another way to get the machine is to use a company like American Van Lines. Supposedly they will go pickup the machine at the guys place, wrap it, then ship it. So I have been told.

Is the maching you are bidding on closer to NY city or NY state?

I bought a machine in Middletown NY once. Took me about 5 hours each way to get it. Border was a piece of cake. Just had the seller write up a receipt for it. Game was made in the USA, so no duties, just GST.

I used a minivan to get it. Just take the seats out & you should be fine. If you don't have a minivan, you can rent one with unlimited KMs. Might be a cheaper option than a U-Haul..

Friendly Advise :

If the guy doesnt want to ship, dont buy it.
