Visually one of the most stunning movies in years! I enjoyed the 3D part of the film, as I ate my popcorn and looking at the "landscape" scenes I noticed what looked like bugs flying above the heads of the audience members. Pretty cool.

This movie is meant to be the future template for hollywood flics because they wanted to find a way to get a movie out there that would be difficult to copy (download) and apparently this 3D technology should do that.

Ricker's current lineup;

El Dorado          Flash.                   Royal Flush           Joker Poker
Volley               Pioneer                 Barracora             Black Knight
Meteor             Xenon

I booked the thickets true internet and didn ' t realise it was the original english version until we got there . So , i downloaded it for the kids to see it in french . It is a screener and most likely the best screener i downloaded . The 3D effects didn ' t affect the quality at all ...

I have heard that there are possibly 3 versions of this film right now, Imax, 3D and regular versions. When they go to release the DVDs for this movie in the next year, that will be when the super copy protection is supposed to take place.

Yep, it's no secret we've seen some of this story in other movies before. Of course Disney does the same thing with lots of movies (Atlantis: the Lost Empire borrowed from Nadia: the secret of Blue water; Lion King borrowed from Kimba the White Lion), and they go further in "Borrowing" from themselves too, maybe a little too much .

eheh http://www.hemmy.net/2006/04/26/disney-animation-reuse/

Disney also re-uses the same "villain-defeat" in almost all of their animated movies that feature a specific villain, with the bad dude falling to his death, usually accidental (or at least falling into a hole or something like that).  That's ok, I still enjoy their movies, they're original in their own way .

I don't think anyone is stating it's the most original story ever, but the bits put together can become something original. As I mentioned earlier, George Lucas has admitted being "inspired" by the Japanese film "Hidden Fortress" and heez, I wouldn't want anything changed with Star Wars.

Looks like Stern missed the boat on this one. If you are looking for brand recognition, Avatar is pretty recognizable right now. When a movie makes over $1 Billion, a lot of people are partaking in the Avatar experience, should have made the pin especially if it was already designed.

Common! BBH with the Fisher Price playset is soooo much better.

Dopes! "Couldn't poor piss out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel." would seem rather apropos at this time.
