i dont know what starburst has them on for but it would be at least 4995.00 plus both taxes plus delivery so my guess is 5600.00 and you have to update the software on your own
current pins taf,lotr,cftbl,ngg,ij,tz,totan,tspp,shadow,t2,Wh20,rs,rfm sadly gone over 30 more pins.
If you are serious about getting one, negotiate with Starburst. You can get an Ironman for $4195 USD + from multiple US vendors and then taxes at the border. That's about $4900 CDN. Several US vendors will sell at this price. If you are close to the border, it may be worth your while to drive across and get one. You can also see if Starburst will come close to matching it altho Ironman is selling quickly (10+ sold in Allentown just this weekend) so they may not have enough incentive to get your business. Worth a try tho.
If you want a new pin, go for SM, if they still have one in stock. When I got mine from startburst, they still had a NIB SM. It's a much better game than Iron Man.

why spend that much when you get two or three games for that price.
I used to think that way, too. But sometimes two or three games are not as good as one game. Why buy a Porsche? You can buy two or three Hyundais. The Porsche is a better experience, plain and simple.
There can be other factors as well. Maybe you have been collecting for 10 years and have decided you really want a Spiderman. You look at prices in the States for a HUO and realize for a couple hundred more you can have NIB. So I decide to buy a NIB Spiderman...opps let it slip.
My first NIB purchase and I will be selling about three games over the summer (after I have gotten them fixed and working -- nothing is getting sold from my current set up collection) to pay for it. Right decision? Depends on how you look at it. But I'm excited and cann't wait. Will I do it again? Not likely. I like buying HUO and saving the dollars. In the case of Spiderman, it's actually gone up in the last few months and the difference is minimal.

Wow! Welcome to the club! Spider-man is a fantastic game. I think it rivals MM+AFM in rules/gameplay (There are a lot of similarities). It's perfect setup next to my TZ, very complementary play styles.

Agree 100%. I had an AFM and it's gone. I think Spidy is much better. MM tough to say. MM has that castle which is so cool, but ME has one so I get to play it enough for my MM fix. Even though she has a Spidy, I want one. I like it that much. I've been playing Spidy it since it was new and decided I have to get one.
I watched as Sean O'Neill finish the Hero wizard mode on Spider-man last SB auction and draining his remaining balls, satisfied, after scoring a billion points.

Wow, someone needs to teach them what "In house" means. Doesn't mean the customer has to bring it to YOU, you repair it in the customers house...idiots.
If I was paying that kind of coin for a new pin, I'd be pissed if I had to load it up and take it to them in the first 90 days for repairs. You get your a** over here and fix it.
That kind of customer service alone, would have my money being spent elsewhere.

They are providing a service for stern and in house means there house (shop) and yes, you have to bring it to them. All distributors are going to be similar, the best one was Laniel Automatic in Montreal, I miss them. I sell used machines and I will repair them at the persons house if it breaks but distributors are like WalMart, if it breaks bring it back. My .02

I don't buy $5000 merchandise from Walmart that weighs a couple hundred pounds. Kinda like buying a dishwasher or a washer and dryer don't ya think? A $40 toaster...different story.
I'll be damned if I'm loading those up and bringing them back for anything less than a complete replacement. They want to opt to repair instead, they either come get it or they come service it on-site. Pretty standard practice with durable goods.

Well I am not going to argue with you but a pinball machine is hand made and very complicated. I would consider us all lucky that they are still being made to this day.
As far as warranties go, Stern will replace defective components but they are not going to travel across the country to fix your game.

Just a blurb that pinball machines are duty free. The taxes you pay are the PST/GST, same as you would pay if you bought from a seller in Canada. (you can also cross over the adjacent province, and omit provincial tax, and also if you're going to be staying in the US for a bit, you can sometimes just get waved through too, and not pay any PST/GST..)

Or you can drive down with Poolman and Tslam, cross back over only to find out the boarder guard dated Tslams wife back in the day and get waived through! (damn I wish I went to A-town this year)

Or you can drive down with Subpacket the Customs Broker who uses some kind of customs broker Jedi mind trick on border agents and also gets waved through in spite of the $3000 worth of stuff that's obviously sitting on the trailer.

Sitting??? I thought it was the Cracky Crabs hanging off the back of the trailer that distracted the boarder guard? Although Jedi mind trick is probably the real reason....

AFM TOTAN INDIANA JONES FT ES NGG CHEXX BUBBLE HOCKEY CATACOMB STAR POOL also a collection of CRAP that is always getting bigger
What it comes down to, is do you like it and want it? Who cares what anyone else's opinion is. You work hard for your money and if a new stern machine makes you happy, you f'ing buy it! I personally love Williams machines, but an nib family guy or spider man vs a classic Williams of the same price? I'd have to go with nib. You do whatever the hell you feel like dude! P.s. Geoff is right about home service by the way Ken. If you don't agree, don't buy from a distributor.
