I'm very excited. Just ordered and paid for an RFM. It was through ebay and is being shipped from Rhode Island to Ogdensburg NY where I will pick it up and bring across the border. I'm super excited. I can't wait to tinker around with the pin2k platform. The one I ordered is supposedly working, which is awesome, but depending on the stuff to come out of nucore I may get one in the future. Turning my machine into a jukebox isn't much of a draw yet. Maybe if new game kits come out it'll be worth it.
This is also my first purchase from ebay, the US, and using shipping (always picked or got delivered from seller before). I'm a bit nervous, but excited as well.
I've read that the game is really heavy. Is it heavy even with the backbox removed? The guy agreed to ship it with the backbox removed, he said it was no problem. He is packing it on a pallet.
Also, I'd like to get the online tournament system working. Anyone got a spare SMC8416 ISA network card in their closet?

Congrats. I'd love to get an RFM now that I've had some play time on one, but I can't see it happening any time soon.

Previously Owned: Vids- Far too many to list Pins- High Speedx2, The Shadow, Mystic.
Yes, it is a heavy beast. I think w/ the head remove it would be pretty easy to use a dolly and bring it down your stairs. You are welcome to use my dolly if you like and I'll even come over to help if we can plan a convenient time. Just send me a PM.
Thanks for the offer Duane. Hippochrome and I have been getting good at moving pins in and out using moving straps. Just did HS last night without breaking a sweat. Getting the GNR in was probably the most challenging yet due to being a widebody.
But why is pin2k cabs heavier (minus the head) than other pins? Is it the computer in it? Couldn't it just be removed?

The lower cab with the head removed isn't as heavy as say a WPC, but the head on a P2K is so heavy because of the CRT in it. (not to mention it's physically got more wood to it than conventional heads)
The best part about P2K is working on them. Absolutely brilliant design.

Great, so it won't be a problem to bring it in then. We get normal sized pins in and out all the time
Bringing the head in separate may be a bit challenging though, due to its bulk.
