Monkeybug contacted me a while back stating the following: ''I have a SBM that needs some serious work... the playfield is very bad... can you take a look at it at the Starburst championship?''

And so I did... ouch. Massive ball swirl... very dirty... bad wear spots... white is now almost yellow...

Looks like a challenge!!!

So here is what I started with...

Hey... is that area supposed to be white? Looks grey now... And the insert wear is horrendous. After I scrubbed, I leveled them out but the wood is so worn due to them being sunk in for so long, that I had to fix the wood around each insert.

And so I spent a total of 2 hours and 13 Magic Erasers and I managed to get it clean, but had to sacrifice some art, which I will be retouching, so no biggie.

Here is a pic of before scrubbing and after. It is obviously scrubbed on the left...

And so the touch-ups begin tonight. My first big test with the new airbrush... I want to bring the natural glow of this playfield back... that means retouching ALL the white!!!

And that is what I started doing... the results are stunning.

The second pic was taken when I did the larger areas on the left. LOTS of taping, and lots of patience, but look at the difference...

Nice job on the start of the cleanup, I was never able to get the ball swirls out of my Mystic playfield like you did there. Can't wait to see how the whole thing turns out!

And here is another pic of the difference... shocking.

The last pic is where I am at now. I will wait for the areas to dry to continue. I did all the big white areas, and I also retouched the white on the wizard's face and arms, a well as the two ''spot letters'' lanes in the middle and on the left. They pop out more than the untouched one on the right...
