So Im just breaking into the pin scene and I played my buddies Austin Powers pin today. Not sure how I feel about it. I like the theme as I love the movies. The art work is pretty bland in my opinion, but the audio is funny. I actually found myself laughing out loud at some of the quotes. "dont hump the frickin laser"" Anyhow not sure how I feel about the gameplay I wasnt blown away and Im not sure if after awhile it might not get on my nerves. Some games I like right from the beginning like CP and IJ. This Im not sure. Anyone else have some thoughts on this title?? |

For me, this game was honestly the worst execution of one of the BEST licenses available. The game play is just not there, and although they got some humor in the game, they left SOOOO much stuff out that it turned me right off.
I would spend my $$ on so many other games before I ever considered this title, but again, this is my personal opinion. If the game didn't grab you, and you're trying to FIND reasons to like it, I think the answer is clear.

I guess thats why I even commented on it. When I first saw the pin I thought wow!! Austin Powers I loved that movie. When I spent some time looking at the cabinet I liked some of the playfield toys bought thought hmm kinda boring. I guess I liked some parts of the game but was blah about more. So I walked away thinking hmmm not sure. I think your right this could have been a really great pin but it comes up short |

Worst game EVER !!!!!!!
Not likely, there are way worse games then AP. Examples are TDK, IJ4, HRC, Sharky's Shootout, etc, etc. Auctin Powers is ok, has some decent toys, and some fun quotes, and a fairly difficuly wizard mode. I like the laser at the bottom of the playfield, the time machine magent is interesting and the rising Dr. Evil out of theplayfield when it works isn't too bad either. the game is playable and enjoyable, but I don't know how well it would work in a small collection. I'm not even sure what the price point on these games are as I've never botherd to look, that would also effect decisions as well because then I'd be comparing to other games in the same price range. |

I agree IJ4 is way worse
It's time for you to show TDK some love.

I don't know if that is the going rate, but for $2200 I'd be looking at: Whitewater Shadow No Fear ST:TNG World Cup Soccer T2 Dr. Who Roadshow And others, before I was looking at an AP. The other games give you way more bang for your buck, espically a title like ST:TNG.

It's time for you to take the rosey color glasses of a realize what a turd it is. I think your Night Rider has about as much depth as TDK and at least there is a point to doing the things you need to do in Night Rider unlike TDK. |

why so serious ? It's a fun game to play, & sometimes that's a good enough reason to enjoy a game.

Hey, Brent.
I love Austin Powers... definately a fun Stern game. It really just depends on what's good to YOU.
I've always said that theme can go a long way... if you are laughing out loud at this game, why not give it a try, what might not be right for some might be right for you. Life's too short anyway...we all need more laughs in my opinion. |

Funny pinball is great, but wouldn't the jokes get old after a little while? Isn't it the gameplay that makes a pin worth owning? |
| Have | Want | -The Getaway: High Speed II!! -Spider-Man -F-14 Tomcat -Guns N' Roses -Lord of the Rings -Twilight Zone | -Medieval Madness! -Indiana Jones (Williams) -Star Trek: The Next Generation -Champion Pub -Terminator 3 -Congo -Johnny Mnemonic -Tales of the Arabian Nights

Depends on why you own it. If its to accent a room where you entertain guests that have no interest in pinball, but enjoy a casual game, then your criteria is much different than if you compete competitively in the pinball world championships... |
