my mortal kombat 1 arcade game is not working the way it should. the game itself works when i'm not playing itbut when i select to play it picks the player for me and in game mode. i can't move but the computer guy can. can someone help me?

more info needed. Does it always select the same character (stuck button)

yes it does. wheather it be first or second player. then after the game starts, kano is an a defenceive position. and all i can do is duck and punch but not move.

Sounds like you have some wiring issues with your control panel
(..shorted/grounded wires ? ) or your I/O chip is wonky.

If the game plays well in attract mode, but not in "player" mode,
then it's not the logic PCB so I'm guessing it's something with the inputs.

sounds like a stuck button, possibly block. The standard clicker switch has a NO and a NC Terminal, make sure NC is not connected...you want NO.

Joystick may work as IIRC in Mortal Kombat if you are holding block your character will not move.

take some time and go over all the button connections and make sure they are all connected. if using spade connectors at the terminals, make sure they are all tight.

the thing is that i also have street fighter 2. but when i play that game, it works perfecty. but 0nt whenb i switch over to mortal kombat
