No trash talking... just support. I have been holding up so far. I haven't had a Coke in 3 days .

i feel your pain but the first two weeks are hard, after that you will wonder who even bothers drinking the syruppy crap.. i am down to one can a month instead of 2 or 3 per day.. the trick for me was PROPEL (sadly it only appears to be a summer drink and isn't on the shelfs at club price.. the ones i find are dustier and dustier).. i'll have one or two PROPEL's a day. You also want to start looking at sugar counts for each drink. i have a rotation of drinks.. propel was 2grams, fluo was 7 compared to 40g for coke..

even if you slip in the beginning and go back to sipping soda,  the trick is to drink twice as much water to flush it out...

I'm sure most of you know this already .. but just incase ...
Do *some type* of exercise.  Yes moving pins and videos count.
Even if you don't loose any weight from exercise (depends on metabolism and diet), your body will become more healthy.  Your energy level will get higher, and chances are you will feel really good after your exercise.  Second, avoid eating later at night and especially before going to bed.   Your body will be more inclined to store those calories as fat while you sleep instead of burning them off.

Good luck to everyone

ps the veggies idea is great Mr. Hide.

Week 1 total:

Weigh-in this morning: 224.1 lbs. Down from 229.7 lbs. Just started cutting back the crappy food. Not easy.

Plus, I actually finally quit my office job. I am going back to the shop in 3 weeks, after my vacation.

Watch me melt now.

Wow... no updates in a while... well here goes!

On March 21st tghis is what the people in the weight loss challenge said they weighed:

Sparky:  230 lbs
JD3:   212 lbs
Frosken:  275 lbs
RAT:  216 lbs
MrMikeman:  230 lbs
Ethous:  226 lbs

Now for the official update... I don't know about the others, but here goes:

JD3 :  199 lbs (last he told me)  MINUS 13 LBS!!!!
Note: JD told me that this is the lightest he has been in YEARS! He is hitting the gym regularly, and cut back A LOT of the crap he ate in the past. He also stated that his back hasn't felt as good in a while.

Keep up the good work buddy!!!!

Sparky:  219 lbs (weigh-in this morning)  MINUS 11 lbs!!!
I must admit, I have had quite a few "fall-outs", but I have been cutting most of my sugary soft drinks in a day, and I have found myself to be more conscious about what I eat. I have lost one notch on the belt, this even though I have spent 4 days in Allentown and a week in the US on business (countless evening beers...). The gym is slated to open around here on Sept.1st... I will be first in line.

C'mon you other guys... let's hear how it's going!!! And for others, it is never to late to start!!!

Off topic, but that gym complex might have an arcade. This is according to a newspaper ad though and they might have meant something else. A friend of mine was having talks with the owner about the restaurant there, I'll try and pry out some info if possible.

If that's the case, I might join there when my membership expires at Island Gym in Ile Perrot.

Might be worth the extra drive
