Also , is it strange or not that i was downloading Frank Zappa music on frost wire , then went on youtube to find out song titles from "SOFA" , ran into that GG clip , decided to share it , only to find out that there will be some gentle giant music being played LIVE tomorrow night in Quebec City ???   WOW

It is a message...you were meant to see that show.

So was I but sadly not possible.

Check this out ! That ' s where they ' ll be playing !!! The rottendog SDB  will end up on the Xmas list ...

On 17

March

2007

, after further renovations at a cost of 23 million which began in the summer of 2004, Salle Raoul-Jobin

is inaugurated.

The sound of this new hall is now deemed "almost perfect".

The acoustic insulation outside reduces ambient noise to a background noise of 20 dBA.

Through the use of various techniques of sound

, the room allows for optimal control (2.2 seconds or less) of the reverb

without echo

Frickin ROCKED! They played all the great GG songs like Alucard, Why Not, Knots and Edge of Twilight. Very cool. A few things from their most recent album as well, which was excellent. I even bought the album. It was a very intimate show, and Gary Green even went in the crowd after the show and shook hands to whoever was there. I got lucky and stayed a bit. I got to say hi to him and thank him for inspiring many of us to pick up a musical instrument.

... and I got him to sign my Gentle Giant CD.

They did start late though. Thank god I had my laptop. God bless aircards.

Retiring soon...

Great Ian ! I ' m glad you had a good time ...

As for myself , my games room floor ' s gonna cost me over $200 and the show expenses would cost over $100 . = half the GR floor . Also , i ' ve seen lots of concerts , memorable ones like ELP in 1977 at the MTL olympic stadium (80,000+ people) and odd ones like Nina Hagen , rough trade , talking heads . ect ... Also seen rush 3 times , Peter Gabriel twice (once with David Bowie and the tubes , at BC place) and was satisfied on both counts .

But , i saw april wine at the Quebec colliseum in 1980 , 2 drummers , 2 lead guitars , wild show . Then , 12 years later , i saw a reconstituted version of the band . Not to impressed with the experience . I know we ' re not talking about the same musician quality here , but i checked some GG old clips and compared it to some of the new formation "three friends" . It made me decide to pass on that one ...

My $0.02

Claude
