My obvious dumb question is why aren't you renting it out yourself and making 20k on it instead of trading for pins that wouldn't ever earn anything close to it? I'm just being a devil's advocate.
What are you talking about stealing a deal on Tom? You should get your facts straight before you make any accusations like that. Slingshot knew I wanted a ToM and he wanted the SW. It didn't work out and I didn't hide a single thing from slingshot. As he explained it, it was someone in Edmonton who tried to scoop the deal from him. Last I checked, I don't live in Edmonton. If Slingshot has a problem with me, he can email me about it.
What the heck is going on here. Hardcore, have you been drinking again . I have dealt with both of you and have no ill feelings for either one of you. As far as the TOM deal, yes, I did mention it to pinsrfun as well as Dave and a guy in Edmonton. I forwarded the pics I had to all 3 of them so they all had access to the seller's email address. I was told by the seller that someone wanted to come and buy the TOM if I didn't make my mind up whether or not I was purchasing them. I sold the pin to you Hardcore because you were ready to take the TOM right away , split the shipping and pay the GST on yours. I only mentioned to you that I had forwarded the emails to them and maybe one of them had offered to buy the TOM before I got them. It would be unfair to say pinsrfun or anyone of them tried to do this. I don't know why they would anyway as it wouldn't have saved them any money. I just wanted a friend to get the TOM before a stranger. If you guys are having issues please do not involve me and I hope you guys work it all out. BE HAPPY
Since you obviously know the entire story, why don't you examine the entire email exchange I had with Slingshot. At no point did I try to buy the games off the vendor and screw Slingshot.
Stan, get back on your meds. Every person who read your post was probably thinking the same question. You obviously took it personally and tried to drag my name into the mud. I simply provided the factual events to counter your claim. Enough said, your responses are enough to convince me about you. Good luck with your sale.
And as slingshot saids, what sense would it make for me to go put more money (that I didn't even have at the time) towards a deal for 2 pins when I was only interested in ToM that was being offered up to me anyways.
To steer this topic back on track, I don't see how hot tub rentals could be as lucrative as you make them out to be. Mabe I don't understand the logistics, but renting a hot tub doesn't really make any sense to me, like are these things portal, drop off and pick them up kinda thing, or do you have to set them up at a specific location and people come to you.
Either case, I still don't see much of a market for it.

Actually, the 2 distributors in my area are making damn good money doing just that. In fact, one said that he made more money renting than selling...
I have no idea how many folks it takes to transport and setup, but at new years they were doing minimum 4-day rental and $450 cost - so my buddy didn't rent one..., but yeah, a lot rent them - as its a lot easier than owning/maintaining/fueling one - and you reclaim the space once your done.
Hot tubs are big, so you need a way to transport them.
You'll need help moving them so you'll most likely need at least one other guy to give you a hand.
time ivolved moving, setting up plus paying for someone elses time.
then you have to do it all over again when you pick it up.
Plus these things arn't exactly meant to be moving around constantly so I'm sure there is maintenance and up keep as well.
Cleaning to keep them in tip top shape.
Sure as hell seems to me like it's not as easy as trading a few pinballs, getting a hot tub, plunk it down and wait for the money to roll in. If it was that easy everyone would do it.
Own Magic, Star Gazer, Batman Forever, STTNG, Mystery Castle (project)
Gone Fairy, Secret Service, Meteor x3, Title Fight, Eight Ball Deluxe, Bone Busters Inc., Seawitch, Starship Troopers, Strange Science, Arena, Hook, Pin*Bot x2, Time Warp, Motordome, Robocop, Black hole, Jurassic Park , Wipe-Out, Pinball Pro: Challenger I, Swords of Fury, Stargate, Party Zone
Yup... including himself... well, he asked me to delete his account anyways. I haven't done it yet. I will spare you all his comments.
And for the hot tubs, the rental ones function on 110V usually. They don't tend to rent super big ones as these need a specific set-up.
He got called on his misinformation, he should have eaten his crow and moved on, everyone makes mistakes once and a while.
But the Hot tub idea, trading a hot tub business for pinballs with nothing of an explanation other then "It'll make you rich I guarantee!" doesn't offer much confidence. I'll admit when it was trade pinballs for a hot tub, I contemplated the idea as I would like to have a hot tub at some point. Had I actually had the room for it, then I might have even had a conversation about it. But giving less information then you find on those flyers on lamp posts claiming "Make $100/hr working from home" what was he expecting?? Us all to drop 5 of our best games at his feet and thank him for spreading his wisdom amongst us unwashed masses.......
