Hello guys,

'm looking too to buy the atomiswave candy cab. It's the perfect cab for mame. I know it's very difficult to get one because the only seller in america is in the USA. The price is 1500USD for a 1player cab or 1750 for a 2players. The big problem is the shipping : 600$US. I don't have the total price with the taxes but it's too much for a cab.
My other solution is to buy to coinopexpress, a company from Hongkong.
http://www.coinopexpress.com/products/machines/cabinets_only/Atomiswave_SD_Cabinet_6434.html

Their price is 950USD but ths shipping for only one cab is 800$US. If we buy a container of cab from this company, the shiiping price will be 3000$US/number of cab. We can put a max of 30 cab in a container. All the differents models are here: http://www.coinopexpress.com/products/machines/cabinets_only.html

So, and you have understood, I propose here to manage a group buying at this company to get cabs very difficult to get.

Please reply in this thread if you are interested and I will see with this company how to do for the payment and delivery.

If you need information about the japanese cab you will find all here: http://www.candycabinetcity.com/

I think you might be able to find one cheaper at Alouette?  I remember someone here saying they had some.  Still expensive but certainly cheaper than what you are describing.  There was a post on this over the summer or early fall I think?

Although I applaud your efforts to try and get this off the ground,
keep in mind that there will be some logistical challenges.

1- Finding a demand.
I'm sure there are other people potentially interested
in this cab, but realistically, you would need about 10 committed buyers
before even considering a bulk buy.

2- Money.
Assuming 10 buyers, you're looking at about $15,000US,
...things get complicated with that kind of money.
(and make sure everyone pre-pays in full )

3. Shipping/Delivery
I've never dealt with container shipping, but I would expect it
to be a bit of challenge. And once it arrives (presumably in Montreal ),
how do you co-ordinate pick-up for 10+ people...

I don't want to pop your balloon (...and hats off to you if you can pull it off...),
but like someone else mentioned, it might be alot less hassles
to try to find one in North America...

Good Luck,
Steph

Hi steph,

thans for your advices I have thought at all those points before and I think the first thing is to find the buyers and after negociate with the company in hongkong. I think it's possible that coinop open a group buying for montreal and received payment from everyone before to send the container. I have my own importation business with china so I'm aware of all diferent steps to do. Step by step we will succeed.

If I actually knew what that was I might be able to answer!  I think there were some pics of machines that looked like the one you point to but I honestly can't remember.

The killercabs website (http://www.killercabs.com) , bases in UK, organise this kind of group buying, it needs only a little bit of organisation. here their last importation with pictures http://www.killercabs.com/gallery.php?album=The%20Cab%20Order%202006

Au contraire mon ami !

I've just started my X-mas Holiday !
I'm off until Jan 2nd, so I'm in a very good mood !

Like I said, I did not want to dash Fabien's hopes,
but I just wanted to point out that this is a pretty big undertaking
and not to take it lightly.

It would seem however that he's done alot of research and is aware of the challenges.

I hope he succeeds, it would be another feather in the [collective] MACCA cap.

Salut,
Steph
