Can I swap with my Dolly Parton MPU?

No. The stern MPU is an M200. You will notice that you have an extra chip on the Stern MPU... the jumpers are not the same as well...

Have you considered LED displays? I can drop one off at your office next week for you to try. If it works, I can buy the standard displays off you and that would offset the cost of new displays... Could be the reason why there were 2 Pinscores in it in the first place... who knows.

Little updated!

put pinscore display in that and she's doing the same, didn't try to swap the MPU, but I'm pretty sure it's and MPU issue, since display, power supply and solenoid driver board are new.

Keep you posted

Like Glen said, do you try to swap the PIA U10 on the MPU?
Maybe a grounding problem?

Hi Hyann

The power supply board is only 60$ and worth every penny for all the machine, the solenoid driver board is not so bad at 80$ ( mine was OK, so I now have a spare).  For the display I need a complete 7 digit for my seawitch and is pretty closed the same price for LED display than regular and with the LED, you don't need the High voltage section anymore... so I think is better.

I just order some PIA this morning to try if new one going to help. One folk on RGP mentionned that like Glenn!

Let you what happend

thank's Gino

I have a lot of PIAs... you should have mentioned it before.

If you need to try an Alltek, let me know.

My guess is the U11 chip on the MPU.  Try reseating the U11.   If that doesn't work, swap U10 and U11.  If that doesn't work, try reseating U20 and/or swapping that with another U20 if you have one.  If that doesn't work, try wiggling various wires at J1 on the MPU while the machine is in attract mode.  You can find out exactly which wires to wiggle if you know what segments or digits are always off.  I don't think the wires are the issue though, since as Sparky pointed out, this would cause the digits to be missing for all scores, not just last score played.

Could it possibly be a 5101 problem ??

Of course, if you have another MPU that you can swap in, that would at least narrow down the problem.   Doesn't sound like its power or SDB related.

And the winner is Mr Niceguy

Hal-9000 come at home this morning and we swap U10 and U11 and voila, everything seem to be good! Thank,s Hal-9000

thank,s everybody for the advice.

Glad to hear it worked out - I never noticed that problem when I had it, but I never had that many displays in it.
