It is nice to see a place like this pop up. I hope that more cities get a museum underway and remind the public what pinball is all about.

I could always start one... There is a commercial space for rent 2 blocks away from my place. An old video store that closed. But the rent is 800$ per month...

The museum is cool, but....I don't know how long it will stay in business. They are only charging $5 for unlimited play! How can you pay staff, cover rent, and overhead at that price? I could understand if they had a restaurant or something attached, but without additional sources of income, I don't see how it can survive much more than the "free" rent period. Hope I am wrong.

Make it a co-op?  For all those people that have run out of space or that have to hide new purchases from their spouses!

That does seem low .. $5/hr or something would amke alot more sense ... CoftSB in Mississauga has some open Saturday nights where they charge $10 for 4hrs ... Bumper Amusements in Melbourne did something called pinball faith that was like $20aud but that included a tournament and free pizza (I don't think there was any prize money for the tourney just bragging rights).

That has been discussed many times. Problem is I doubt many would bring games and pay a percentage of running costs. Generally, people buy a game to enjoy it in their own house.

GJD did the experiment with the museum... didn't work out all that great as far as I know. Barcades would work, but the space I am talking about is right in front of an elementary school, so THAT won't happen.

Did Gerald open the doors on the museum ? I know he had the one place where the auction took place and then another on the danforth but I dont think that one ever opened up .. could be wrong

Tell you what Chris... find me at least 100 members that commit to pay 25$ a month and I would open something like the Church of the Silverball. I think that would cover the cost of a small venue with rent and utilities. It would be free to use for all members and guests would pay a 10$ entrance fee.

Any takers?

(No worries... I really don't expect this to go anywhere...)
