Anyone do any ebay business with a Mike Ducker from New Jersey (Mad Amusements)?  Anyways I placed an order for some parts from him outside of ebay with a money order (only way he would ship to Canada - I thought to avoid the paypal fees).

Anyways I sent payment on Dec. 17/2007 and received two emails from him, the last on Jan. 6 stating he received payment and will send the parts once the money order clears.  Huh...I sent him a Royal Bank Certified US Money order for $128.70.  Anyways I'm tired of chasing this guy with emails and I would like to talk to him personally about our transaction.  Like I said the last email he sent me was on Jan. 6 and he has not replied to any of my subsequent emails asking what the staus is on my parts or sending me a refund at this point.  Whatever his situation is he could have sent me an email explaining his negligence in this matter.

Anyways all I was able to get from ebay was his ebay email which I've used as well with no response.  In order to get the information I need I need an item number of an ebay transaction, and maybe then I can get a number to give him a call.

If you have done business with this guy in the past you may be able to help.  A pm is fine.

Let this also serve as a heads up and I've also tried RGP but have not been able to get a phone number for him yet.

PS He's an ebay Powerseller with 100% positive feedback.  Go figure.

Just a thought. Try emailing him from a different address. It may be possible your getting spam blocked and not getting through to him.

It's also possible that your parts have shipped and are sitting in customs. I have had orders shipped from the USA that have sat in customs for almost 2 months before I got them. As for him not responding to you, I have no idea on that.

Thanks for your input guys,

For the record Mike had no problem returning my emails in an expedient manner when I was inquiring to purchase the parts.  It was after this that I have had a problem communicating with him or should I say getting communication from him.  He is receiving my emails as he has responded to two of them.  The waiting part sucks but that I can live with, the part that upsets me is the fact that I am left in the dark not knowing what has happened to this transaction.  C'mon it only takes a few minutes to send and email, so whatever his situation is, it shouldn't be too much trouble to let me know what's happening.  I mean after all it's the normal/decent thing to do when doing business on the internet.

Grauwulf,
Doubt whether the parts are being held up in Customs as he hasn't even indicated that they have been sent.

I call Bollocks on all fronts, I've sold hundreds of parts in this hobby, and there are "no"
excuses for a seller NOT to get back to their buyer....none...

Internet business 101 for the old schoolers:

There is "no" excuse "not" to get back to someone, none.
Swamped with service calls? no time? hire someone, or beg your wife to do it. Done.
Got Injured? sorry to hear it, but get your wife or employees to return messages.
Got a really souped up Spam Blocker?  Telephones DON'T. Use it.
Got a full time job already? Selling parts online takes time, so quit one or the other.
Dead? sorry to hear it, but people in business plan for death for things to continue,
It's part of any business plan, from a brothel, to Enron.

Parts stuck in Customs? Give the customer the tracking number, and apologize for delay.
Didn't get a tracking number? Get out of the shipping business and sell shoes immediately.

.....please do let us know Flashman, when he "does" eventually surface with more of his
parts for sale, I'd be quite interested to hear the reason for his lack of communicado.

Furthermore, to all the scraggly old Eagles Fans who are digging out old parts to sell
for "the big bucks" on the net and finding out that it's work? Please Stop.... Sell your
crappy Captain Fantastic, your dead motorbikes and archie comics and go back to school
for 10 grand a year, cause the rest of us are sick of wasting OUR time trying to brush
you up on E-commerce at OUR expense.

I agree. I have lots of mess to sell, but I know I am going to get called off and not be able to be a good seller in many cases. So I don't sell it.

Once and awhile I get a couple of uninterupted weeks where I can do that, but the rest of the time forget it.

For instance this is how bad it gets. A guy is here tonight and wants to buy my WCS94. No rush, no pressure from me I say "Would you like it tonight or if you don't mind I will sit on it for a week and sell it when I get back a week from now". Now I am not going to try and close a sale that I can't follow through on for the week. So I am literally willing to take it off the market because I am not available and get back to the guy next week. Then he gets first refusal.

I am certain many would have taken his money and then made him wait till they were ready to deal with it. I refuse to do that when I know I am the reason that the deal is not going to be finalized. I would rather just not sell it until I am in a position to follow through.

As it turns out, a pin will fit in the back of a Hyundai Sante Fe.

Necro, exemplary!  I guess the clear difference is that you're not greedy, and know your
limitations, awesome!

I know sellers that have pulled auctions and eaten the fees because they "knew" that
they wouldn't be around to close the deal, I'm tired of seeing nice people get dicked
around by sellers who don't MAKE the time to send responses.

Buyers are no different, if you haven't got a few hours to get a machine dropped off and
make the arrangements? Stay out of this hobby....for all of our sanity, go collect pocket-sized Shite made by children in communist China like a good North American wasp.

I know it sounds harsh, but we've all lived it too many times.

Oh, oh.....doesn't sound good.  You're the third member of Maaca that I know of who paid by money order and has not received their parts in a suitable time frame.  How many emails have you sent him with no response?  I hope you haven't given up.

Once I get a hold of him I could remind him of your transaction but I would need the particulars, pm me if you want.

There's got to be a way to resolve this.  If I could get a phone number that would really help, personal or business (Mad Amusements).  There's got to be someone from Maaca who bought parts from him on ebay and can get access his phone number.  Once again his ebay handle is how_bout_them_apples.

He had some parts that I wanted to buy on Ebay and he gave me the same story about no Paypal and send him a money order because I am in Canada. I decided that I would not accept those terms, most everyone else in the US does. Something did not sound right with him, that is why I did not bid in his items.

Post on RGP, someone in the US must be able to get you a number or more info.
