Just watched PAWN STARS last night and they had a Odds & Evens game http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=1692.  They paid $1000 for it and then had thier expert shop it out this 3 grand The machine is only worth $500.  This is worse then the $100 solenoid or 'never buy an nonworking pin' on American Pickers. After it was done the expert said you could sell it for $5000 why didn't they call Tim Arnold it is in Vegas..

I was screaming at the TV.

But they are talking retail market ... I think it was in Ceasar's but I know one of the Casino's had one or two pins for sale and the price tag was something like 5 or 6K (for like a run of the mill DMD something that would fetch maybe 2K on RPG or here).

I'd have to question the shop job of the "expert" .. because if he actually knew what he was doing, he'd know the value of the pin..

I finally set up my HTPC PVR and have been experimenting with it and managed to "tape" the KISS Pawn Stars ep.  I'll have to upload the clip.  For a guy who said he wouldn't accept less than $3k, he sure came down to $2k pretty fast. (Someone already mentioned this episode in January, but I thought I'd hijack this newer thread instead.)
