Just watched PAWN STARS last night and they had a Odds & Evens game http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=1692. They paid $1000 for it and then had thier expert shop it out this 3 grand The machine is only worth $500. This is worse then the $100 solenoid or 'never buy an nonworking pin' on American Pickers. After it was done the expert said you could sell it for $5000 why didn't they call Tim Arnold it is in Vegas.. I was screaming at the TV. |

But they are talking retail market ... I think it was in Ceasar's but I know one of the Casino's had one or two pins for sale and the price tag was something like 5 or 6K (for like a run of the mill DMD something that would fetch maybe 2K on RPG or here). |

I'd have to question the shop job of the "expert" .. because if he actually knew what he was doing, he'd know the value of the pin.. |

I finally set up my HTPC PVR and have been experimenting with it and managed to "tape" the KISS Pawn Stars ep. I'll have to upload the clip. For a guy who said he wouldn't accept less than $3k, he sure came down to $2k pretty fast. (Someone already mentioned this episode in January, but I thought I'd hijack this newer thread instead.) |
