I saw on ebay pre-sale for a new stern batman pinball (probably based on the last movies) but I can't find any info on it or pictures. Is it only a rumor?

Talk about being about 2 years out of date.... I wish they'd all get off the "media franchise, and brand tailcoating" bandwagon and go back to original creations... but then I guess something is better than nothing.

Gary Stern has publically stated that all their pinballs will be licenses. That seems to be the nature of the business these days. And by judging Stern's licensed vs non-licensed titles, you can see why.
-The Getaway: High Speed II!! -Spider-Man -F-14 Tomcat -Guns N' Roses -Lord of the Rings -Twilight Zone
-Medieval Madness! -Indiana Jones (Williams) -Star Trek: The Next Generation -Champion Pub -Terminator 3 -Congo -Johnny Mnemonic -Tales of the Arabian Nights
There is a poll for a music themed pin. Led Zep, Ac/Dc, Beatles, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones and my personal fav THE RAMONES are all on the poll. I think it would be a brilliant move to do limited editions of all six (let the polls and response determine quantity of each title...one interchangeable newly designed table ocourse!). They would generate a helluva lot of interest outside of the hobby. Music fans and collectors can be more obsessive then pinheads ......okay at least equal anyway

Wow... Myspace is just nasty on the senses. I kept scrolling and could not find a poll. I gave up, since it seemed like some 14 yr old put it together in his parents basement. (I think Stern should hire the CPR or PFR guys).
I always thought the Beatles would be a great pin. One of the most universally loved bands of all times which cross many generations. Even though a Led Zep or Ramones would be cool too.
I can't imagine what the licensing for a Led Zep or Beatles pinball would cost. Oye, that would be an expensive pin!

A Ramones pinball table would singlehandedly rule the universe. Their wives (or whoever) have been licensing out their music and merch like crazy in the last couple of years since Joey, Dee Dee and Johnny died.
I'd probably buy one I'd buy one sight unseen. Gabba Gabba Hey Multiball!
Wishful thinking I'm guessing.

Well cabinet looking good, wish I have a better look at the playfield... I'm not a big fan of the new Stern playfield.. gameplay will tell the rest BG nice but I would like art more like the comic book than movie but they will sell more machine with the movie theme.

I played it tonight. Code not close to being complete. The inserts didn't even light up when the you complete the modes. The crane is a cool toy. It moves to different stops across the playfield and you have to hit the ball. Similar to Drac on MB. Mini play field did not register properly. Basically same mini as LoTR. The Joker doesn't do anything except spin around to face you when Joker multiball is on. Not a target or interactive at all. The teeter totter is currently not controlled by the player. Thats the not so good. The good...The game is quite fast, the sound is pretty good and the art work is very nice. I think when the code matures a bit it will be a nice B title but doesn't seem to have it in it to be an A game. I went with the intentions of buying it but came ome with BSM instead, Couldn't pass up the bling.
Well if the game is anywhere near as good as the movie I'll have to think about buying one, just got done watching the movie, and it really is as good as everyone says. It is really an amazing movie 2 hours and 40 mins and not for one second did I not enjoy the thing. Looking forward to watching in in Imax now.
There's always "ONE" that complains about something
And on MAACA it's always the same "ONE", hey Phil??
Maybe it's too deep for you and you don't get it??
For those of you who can't read emoticons, I'M PULLING HIS LEG!

A friend of mine was at Starburst today and they were setting one up in the showroom. He played a few games and was............disappointed.
How anyone can formulate a reasonable opinion in one or two games is beyond me. There's been pins I've owned for weeks before I determine whether or not the game is any good.

It's easy. In a word. "Stern".
I was putting some hope in the license and Gomez. Gomez is very vocal so I am interested in hearing the story on this pin someday.
Maybe you just have to wait for Rev 2.0 to come out.
My friend actually went to Starburst yesterday to pickup a Target and some other parts as he wanted me to go and service his T3 and LOTR, which I did last night. His entire collection is Stern, so there is no bias here. I plainly asked him what he thought of TDK and his comments less than favourable and then he totally slammed IJ4 which I found even more shocking. With their next two games being CSI and 24, both TV shows past their prime, the future does not look great to me.
In the positive I did play his LOTR for a while last night and it was OK, someday I might actually have to buy one.
It has been scientifically proven that light is faster than sound. That is why some people seem brilliant........until they open their mouth!
I'd have to say at this point it's impossible to forumlate an actual opinion on the machine. Played it, the shot layout and toys are interesting, but the software is so incomplete it's hard to know if the game will be fun the play or not.
None of the modes work The crane only works the first time, if you start it a second time it doesn't come out onto the playfield Mystery will only warad 500,000 None of the main inserts the the charaters light up or do anything.
While I'm interested in playing the game in a more finished state I'd have to say the game felt allot like LOTR in playabilty and shots. It has the POTD, the left orbit loop into a scoop same as LOTR, the shot to start the crane is similar to gimil, it has it's own unique features as wel. It does seem like everything will stack which will be pretty cool, at one point had 2 modes that didn't work going and 2 multiballs so that was interesting.
So can't really say if I like or dislike it, but I'm interested to see if further finished and really will reserve judgment until then.
Saw the movie and played the pin yesterday as well.
I liked the movie, didn't like the pin enough to want it.
It does look good, crane is a cool toy but as others mentioned, software isn't finished at all (WTF about that ? A new game with no software ? Anyway...). I found it to play rather slow and wasn't excited at all. That beeing said, i only played two games (and really didn't feel like playing more). I wish i heard the sounds more, music seemed good, animations on the DMD could have been made by my 5 years old for all i can tell, nothing to get excited about again.
Will be interesting to play if they ever make a software for it but for now, you really don't want it in your basement. The Joker toy thing is useless as well, rotating pics ??? Awsome...
