Maybe. I really am quite skeptical anymore of much coming out of any of these suppliers that is beneficial for the hobby. That and the fact they all want to gouge you $25 for something that might be worth a buck.

There are only a couple of reproduction/repair champions in this industry so far. As for the rest.....

Pinball Inc has been good for ramps. This is quite a leap. Hopefully they are up to the task.

I would much rather deal with James over Gene any day of the week.  Now that James has the ball, lets hope he runs with it.

But what if they're playing basketball?  That would be a traveling foul...

Doesn't having all these parts move to Australia only increase the shipping costs for us here in North America?

All is explained:

http://groups.google.ca/group/rec.games.pinball/browse_thread/thread/6b44f1ddbe7fc105?hl=en#

If anything it sounds like IPB, Pinball Inc and PSP out in OZ are trying to squeeze TPF out of the buisness by taking over the market with this vast majority of parts.

First I would like to thank everyone for all the congratulatory emails
and phone calls I have received.  I have been on the road for the last
couple of days (weeks actually) and I am overwhelmed by the response
to our purchase of the IPB parts.  Over 400 emails in two days and my
phone hasn't stopped.  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

I will attempt give you all a deserving update and to answer the many
questions I received:

Pinball Inc purchased all the IPB parts inventory excluding cab art,
playfields, translights, backglasses and plastic sets (we did get
individual plastics).  We did not buy the IPB company, IPB will remain
in a strong core business of manufacturing and selling cab art,
playfields, translights, backglasses and plastic sets.

As everyone knows the pinball market is global and our immediate
business plan is to get much needed parts out to all corners of the
globe.  With that plan in mind one of our first business transactions
following our agreement was to pack and ship a 40 ft container of
parts to PinballSpareParts.com.aus (PSP) in Australia.  While this was
a huge amount of parts much needed in the Australia market it was only
a very small dent in the huge inventory that we purchased.  The
cheapest cost average means to ship to Australia is in container bulk
where the shipping cost of each individual part is negligible.
Shipping only boxes and even pallets adds way too much expense to each
part when it is shipped to Australia.  PSP’s purchase of these parts
and new parts manufactured in the future will not only insure a liquid
supply line but also a lower priced parts supply to the Australian
market.  The news gets better for the land of OZ as PSP has planned a
return trip in two weeks to get another container which should keep
them in good stock for quite a while and within 6 months PSP should be
the largest pinball parts supplier in Australia.

Yes, we have a Euro market deal in the works as well.

Pinball Inc will continue in the manufacturing of new ramps and will
add to its product line many new types of parts.  The most exciting
part of this transaction was is the enormous amount of original
tooling and engineering records IPB purchased in the original deal
with WMS.  Pinball Inc will now be able to expand into an entire new
realm of manufacturing including injection parts, rubber molded parts,
plastic extrusion and much more.

Pinball Inc and IPB will be working together during the transition
period to insure an uninterrupted supply of parts to the worldwide
pinball community.  IPB has agreed to keep their current website
active and orders can continue to be processed through the IPB
website.  Once Pinball Inc has completed our new website and once it
is ready to launch online then we will shift the orders to the new
website.

Again, I would like to thank all of you for your support in what is
the most exciting deal I’ve ever been a part of since starting Pinball
Inc 20 years ago.  I am now at the IPB compound and I am very eager to
get started on our new adventure.  Please understand that we will be
VERY busy and unfortunately I won’t be able to spend much time on
RGP.  With the new responsibility that I’ve taken on to serve the
pinball community I feel the professional manner of conduct will be to
only post positive business related matters and updates.  While I will
miss much of the fun that goes on here I believe my time will be
better served selling and manufacturing parts.  As I won’t be
continuously monitoring RGP the best way to contact me is email me at
pinball...@bellsouth.net or call.

Thanks again,
James Loflin

PS.  Bigtime CONGRATULATIONS to Nick and Nug for the completion of

Finally some good news!!

I really don't see how this will help the pinball community, unless you like the idea of spending more money on your pinball parts.  Illinois Pinball offered pinball parts at a more reasonable rate than most suppliers. If you did a little comparison shopping you would see that Pinball Inc. generally charges more for their parts than Illinois Pinball.  I for one don't like spending any more than I have to for replacement parts because as far as I'm concerned we are being gouged enough as it is.  Here's a few examples:

Scared Stiff boney flippers-set $25.00 (Illinois Pinball)  $34.06 (Pinball Inc.)

Oblong standup target blue $8.50 (Illinois Pinball)        $9.66 (Pinball Inc.)

Wms white standard flipper bat $4.00 (Illinois Pinball)  $4.33 (Pinball Inc.)

Granted these might not be the best examples (picked at random) but if you compare parts Pinball Inc. generally charges more, and I don't see that changing after they absorb Illinois Pinball's parts inventory.

PS I'm sure if you looked hard enough you would find some products offered through Pinball Inc at better prices, but this is generally not the case.
