I'm thinking this looks aweful like a Mr. Anderson posting: http://toronto.craigslist.org/clt/466388576.html It's got all the hallmarks. Does anyone know if the images are found elsewhere (i.e. copyright infringement)? In any case, if someone calls, let us know if the seller is Stephen Anderson or Mark Utley ( http://www.xmission.com/~daina/blacklist.html)or ? located,in Hamilton/Flambro etc.

I've been reading all the posts here about Anderson for the last couple of years but has anybody actually dealt with the guy?  There was a Star Wars vid that looked like one of his postings, everyone stayed away with the exception of one guy at cgcc.ca... he took the time to check out the game and was able to score a decent deal.

How many other deals are being passed up because of the Mr. Anderson fear?

I'd say it's him, Wayne.

The contact phone number is a Telus based line working from Dundas. He's hasn't found a way to work around that part. The contact numbers are usually from Dundas. Somehow, people have to contact him, that usually will give him away.

He can do whatever he wants, he keeps changing his advertisements on Kijiji, eBay, Craiglist and such, but people will catch on pretty quickly to his ways. Most people can spot a liar from a mile away, he tells many lies, if you can even get him on the phone.... most people will just give up on him. I would never trust him again and I personally found him very fustrating. He is very dishonest from what I've seen and works the system for his advantage.

I think he's running new ads right now on Kijiji. They have different contact information nearly every single time.

I feel this is another:

http://hamilton.kijiji.ca/c-bu.....ot-W0QQAdIdZ28096998

If you were considering buying stuff from him, I'd say GO IN PERSON, never send money for something he promises. He seems to get pleasure out of ripping people off or fooling people with his many personalities. I don't know how he gets away with it.
I think he'd have alot less hassles if he just said it was him. That way, buyers could decide to deal with him, or NOT. It's actually pretty simple.

yep, not good to trust him or others even, when it comes to forking out good hard cash for a machine.   most do know i did deal with mr. anderson, once.  went in person and picked up what i won.  slot machine was almost as described and for a old 1950's one then thats not bad.   as for mystery score.  minor connector problems that can be fixed easy.  too bad i am too gun shy to fix anything nowadays.  just set it up so it looks great.  so all in all not a bad experience.  compaired to others it was great and safe.

but as for dealing with him.  all depends.  make sure to pick up and ask alot of questions.  if its not put together, then put it together and test it.  don't just take his word for it (or anyones in this biz).  thats a mistake i will never do again.   pay cash so he has no info on you is always another smart idea (he doesn't need anymore alias).   but all in all it was a good dealing.  but loads have not had a great time dealing with him.  good luck if you do.

What I get out of all of this is that despite whatever criminal record he may have (and at some point I will request that), he appears to be an opportunistic thief.  That is, he sometimes offers legitimate goods, but if you deal with him long distance, he will take advantage of that and not ship the goods. Based on the reputation, I certainly would be afraid that he might be selling goods that were scammed from someone else.

This is the part that I don't understand.

What about the first two buyers? Do they get anything ( another machine with the same title prehaps )? Do they get money back?  Aren't they pissed off and doing something about it?

.... that is what allows people like this to keep doing it.

Is there anyone in the St. Catherine's area that can verify if this guy is for real? He's starting to list stuff I actually want. And it's bugging me.

He's also bid on my Joker Poker. Hmmm....

The eBay description certainly sounds like his MO.

He always offers one free service call, then the fun(stration) begins when you try to get ahold of him, after the sale...

I would imagine it's the same fun trying to set up a time to see the games in advance. I'll bet there is some kind of story why you "can't" see the game. He has done this before.

Corey, this is how he keeps popping up, he actually advertises games that people want. I know alot of people have delt with him in the past, as long as you don't mind some fustration, carry on. As long as you're not sending him money, picking up in person, and actually see what you're buying right there. My recommendation would be to stay away. I don't trust him, and I'm not sure how he keeps getting these machines on eBay, Kijiji and Craiglist, it will probably be sold locally as well. He's done this before as well. Sold the same machine twice.

If I lived closer, I would love to see him again, call him out on a couple of things.

BUYER BEWARE....

Let's see.. hmmm...Postal Code given is Alliston, says the location is Cambridge, Milton, Hamilton. Reverse look up on Phone number is Dundas.
Also selling an Oldsmobile from Dundas (or Mississauga).

Kijiji, Craigslist and Buy and Sell are plastered with this sale.

Someone, not me, posted a warning about this person and phone number on Craigslist which was subsequently taken down.

It's Anderson, fits the MO perfectly.  If you deal don't pay until you have the machine in your truck (and I'd be curious about the condition and the origins of the machines).  The last time he was scamming some woman who he befriended and lived with in order to gain access to her money and ebay account to do the deals.

Based on all the ads he places I'll bet he does get machines.  Maybe he promises to pay them later (consigment)? Who knows.  But one thing for sure is he's got a stinky reputation.

Still 5 days to go and he's had 11 bids already - shrill bid much? I could be wrong, but he must be using other accounts to up the bidding, I personally don't feel that game is worth that much.

I don't think any of Mr. Anderson's ebay accounts have a feedback greater than 0 (or if they do he was "borrowing" them from someone else).    You'd be surprised by the buzz generated around Captain Fantasic.

I contacted the person that won the last Cruisin' World auction that Arcade_Junkies had listed. I simply asked about their experience and did not indicate one way or the other my suspicions about the seller. This was the reply:

HI Corey
Simply put, stay far far away!! Bought the game paid for the game and won't get the game. On top of that I was verbally abused and threatened by the seller when he finally responded many days later to my 4th email requesting his directions and a pick up time. He has been using other names on ebay previously and has a been kicked off each time I have since been informed. Hope that answers your questions and Good Luck.
Heather

I've asked some more questions (the obvious ones) and will post the reply if I receive one.

there you have it, where there's smoke, there really is a fire.  There's power in multiple people who suspect a scam reporting it to ebay.  When you click the Help link above a listing, it will first try to answer your query with AI, but then if you insist on sending eBay an email, one option is to paste in the auction number, set the subject that you suspect a fraud (but haven't bid), and they will investigate.  With enough inquiries they pull the auction.  Same goes for Buy&Sell, craigslist, and KIJIJI, they will all investigate suspected fraudulent sellers (or rather pull their ads).

Not that I do this sort of thing... but I've heard it's done...

wow.  I keep seeing topic on that guy

Everyone says he's a crook , His auction's are faulty, he sales item without describing the real condition ,  doesn't send the item , steals money , he is rude , He doesn't even post his own pictures of each machine,

#1. he still post pinball machines & cabinets for sale

#2. he still attracts interest around his items

#3. im sure  he  sales his item without a problem..

#4. the topics doesn't affect his reputation at all
He could sale them everywhere , and most people wouldn't know he is a crook....

I don't see why there isn't more heat than that on that individual......
it should be posted everywhere.....?

well im Surprised there isn't a cgcc.ca topic on him yet... maybe it's delayed.... (bad weather outside..)
****  here's a real reason to be pissed against a seller.....! ****

There has been some indication in the writings about him that he has some significant mental issues that go beyond the criminality - but I guess that goes with the territory.  I will see if I can find out if there's anything current with my friends at Hamilton Police Services, if they release that sort of information.
