Well, here I am... stuck in Peoria, Illinois for a one-week Caterpillar training. It's 103 Fahrenheit outside, and there isn't much to do here... or is there...
It sucks to be here, because I miss my wife... sounds corny, I know... but there is no place like home... even when she is 5-months pregnant... mind you that hasn't been a problem... I miss my dogs, and I miss my pins and projects!!!
But... when the company foots the bill for 24-ounce steak dinners, all-you-can-drink beer, HUGE hotel room, and you discover that the sports bar in front of the hotel has a Lord Of The Rings pin, Simpsons Pinball party pin, Elvis pin, Addams Family, IJ, and a Ms.Pacman/Galaga cocktail, it kinda makes things a bit better...
Ian, I know how you feel. I spent the last 6 months of my wife's pregnacy working in Vermont with only getting home for every second weekend... That sucked majorly I was home for the birth though and they later joined me in the states for my last 5 months... Which was really cool
