I'm not from TO, but in August, I was able to check the 'pin scene' there...
Union Station has one...
Maybe Starburst?
Yonge Street arcade (near Sam the Record Man) did not have one, but they have quite a few machines (most of Stern's latest games)
Then in Ottawa, medvet has one!
good luck and keep us posted about your 'POTC comments'!
Current 'working' lineup: ( 2 ) Flipper Football, The Shadow
Gone but not forgotten: ( 22 ) City Slicker, Dirty Harry, CFTBL, Big Shot, Big Guns, Black Rose, Judge Dredd, Indianapolis 500, Big Game, BS: Dracula x 2, Beat the Clock, Fire!, F-14 Tomcat, Getaway, Breakshot, Cheetah, Meteor, El Dorado, Nitro Ground Shaker, Chexx Hockey, Slugfest
I was at Starburst last week and they had one setup in their showroom. The one at union station has a broken boat already.

It broke during the first week they got it...in August, it was working 100%

I am thinking of buying a POTC but would really like to play it first. Are there any around?
Thanks MIke
Mike,
You going to be in the Toronto area soon? If so you should swing by our area. we've got 4 collectors with really nice collections all within a few minutes of each other. As for POTC, Starburst will undoubtedly have on set up on free play in their show room.
Its a pinball machine.. mines break even when i'm not playing them.
Works one day, the other day you turn em on and they have a problem...
Its the main reason why i quit playing pinball in arcades 10 years ago, you could never find one that was working well...
Isn't that the truth! And we wonder why ops find making money with pinball difficult? I had my brother-in-law and family over for the weekend. Was really looking foward to having them over and had all the working machines nicely tuned.
They arrived Friday night and went straight to the pins Within an hour, I had 2 machines "down" with minor problems -- including my LOTR??? Still don't know what happened to it. The diverter at the back started to stick. All I had to do was loosen some screws, adjust, and re-tighten BUT the screws were tight to begin with (really tight). Don't know how it got out of adjustment. Anyhow, my point is my games were nicely adjusted, yet they got problems within an hour of "stress testing" so imagine pins on location.
Now back on topic ...POTC is a really fun game. Visit Starburst and I'm sure they will show you one. You may want to give Adam a call beforehand to let him know you will be dropping by and seriously interested in one.
If you are interested in the game, don't be put off with how "easy" the game is out of the box. Open up the outlanes, increase the angle and the game is a completely different beast.
