I'm in need of 7 new balls for my GnR, forgot to add them in the basket when i ordered from Bay Area (too much excitement i guess) and i dont feel like paying another 10$ of taxes ans shipping... (didnt someone said there was no customs fees when ordering from there ? I had to pay 10$ canadian to pick my enveloppe at post office, for 29$ Us of parts, grrr)

If anyone is planning to order some parts before the meeting on the 25th (or has any in his possession), please let me know, i would like to add that to your order.

Cant go to Starbust or Alouette to pick them up either, they are NEVER opened outside business hours and i really cant skip work anymore..

Let me know !
Sylvain

I will pick some up for you on the 17th. I have a doc's appointment at 9am, so I can pop up at Alouette's after. I want to pick some up for myself anyways. I will pass them thru the polisher for you, so you end up getting "mirror balls".

Sparky

PS: Anybody else needs any parts? I can bring them to the meeting...

BAA writes the value down as actual value on items you will get charged the full amount for customs.

That's new???

Usually I tell them (or don't even need to tell'em) and they drop the value and put 'used pinball parts', so you don't pay customs...

Rick refuses to "lie" about value of items. Marco spec no problem, actionpinball no problem.

You do change the balls, every year in each pin right?  How else are games to stay minty fresh...
When i had six games, that's like 30 balls at a shot.

it more a factor that PBR only sold in 220 and Mr. Hide was bringing the box  from Alllentown to save on shipping but i'd do it again... the balls store forever in the oil

Tako, you have just mentionned the magic word...Allentown. I will maybe pick up TONS of them there, and sell them at cost later over here if there is interest.

As for my machines, it only makes for 17 balls a year as is. But, HH is sold (-1), BH is on the way out (-3), Flash Gordon still needs work (-1), Joust is in storage (-5 I think), Skateball is currently KO (-1), so that only leaves TFTC with 6 balls.

So basically, I would have balls for TFTC for over 36 years... cool!

Nah...I see your point. Important point also... engine oil DOES NOT last forever. If storing for less than 2 years, no problem. But the anti-moisture additive wears thin after 18 months and oil starts to get affected if left in an unsealed container. It then creates a varnish which necessitates the use of brake-cleaner to remove properly. I personally leave all my steel balls and parts in a mix of 50-weight (the thicker the better...)hydraulic oil and a VCI solution (viscous corrosive inhibitor) made by Caterpillar (we use this inside an engine or hydraulic component when it is stored for more than 3 years...it litteraly EATS moisture) which I change every year... I get it cheap, and works great.

Excessive? ...Yes. But I never have problems. When I ship balls, I simply remove them from the solution, put them in a Ziploc while still wet, and ship. I have some balls that have been in a baggie for over a year, and they still look great.

my offer is only local.. it's way too much effort and messy to get the balls out (even with a spatula with holes)..
i only have ~100  left so i ain't letting too many out... also the shipping will kill you..
that's why i bulked up when i had the chance... purchasing balls or legs through the mail is not for the faint of heart.

here is my funny oil story...  the box of 220 balls, 70 went to  Mr. Hide.  150 balls fits nicely  inside one of those giant salad plastic jugs that canadian tire sells instant deicing melting salt stuff.

i just  happen to have a spare quart of synthetic oil... it only covers  about 70% of the balls in the jug. at the store, i see that synthetic goes for $10  but normal oil is $6 and canadian tire is having a sale for $4.50 a quart. while i'm debating at the store, the cheap a** in me just refuses to spend $10 to get the same kind of oil.. after all i'm only storing balls...  at home when i open up el cheapo oil, it has a different color but it has a STENCH..wtf!?!?! oil isn't supposed to stink....  but because i'm a cheap a** who already   spent $4.50 (and refuses to go back to spend the $10) i pour it into the jug anyway..

No chemical reaction and my fears of damaging the balls (knock on wood 30 months later) but with your advice , maybe it's already time for an oil change (bhahahahaha, bad pun)...

The bulk rate; when i purchased, if i remember correctly was 99 cents USD. i think market rates for balls are between 1.50 and $2 usd... and i don't know what PBR's current bulk rate is (seeing as how i'm not purchasing for another year or two) but you have to purchase the whole box of 220 to get the bulk price.

Sparky, i'm surprised with all your industrial connections---  That there isn't a ball bearing manufacturer in town you can't call up &  procure a box at a cheaper rate.

Oh, there is... but they actually rarely sell bals alone. They often sell assemblies. Yeah, they are cheaper than Alouette, but about the same price if I bought some in Allentown for what I have been told...

Besides, it is a pain in the a** to go through purchasing department at work...

If you are buying in bulk then I would probably get 20-30 off you when the time comes.

I would like to say many thanks to Takochef.

Went to play a bit in his oil can yesterday and bought some balls at an awsome price.

That was great to meet you, and very appreciated.
