I would ask them, but they are probably sick and tired of answering that...
I know Xenon is coming out soon... as well as Fathom. I was wondering what playfield after that. We see a crapload of designers with designs, but nothing concrete coming out.
I am praying for a Pinbot playfield... I think it would be a good seller. Most are pretty worn.
Afaik, they are currently backlogged with designs that are completed but need to go into production. I was told they have over many projects in the queue and that they are scheduled over the next couple of years. Look for Fathom, EB, EBD, F2k and some system 11's for playfields.

I am asking for High Speed, but I know through Kevin that the artist Jeff has been delayed again and won't start on it until early next year... I hope, I hope...
What's funny is that they were thinking of offering a "full meal deal" consisting of a playfield, plastics set and backglass. I don't know if that will still happen now...
I guess that Mike and Kevin got surprised with the high demand... considering they do this on their free time, it will be rather difficult... Man, I wish I could get the same equipment they have and back them up... I would love to do it.

I already have the repro backglass and plastics (thanks, Cooke!)... Just need a PF!

I've done a little screenprinting on wood. It's not terribly difficult. Why not build your own printing press and give it a go?

My grandfather used to do commercial screen printing (1960 - 80 vesrions of large format printing!), I wish I had tapped him for more knowledge. He's still alive, but just too hampered by a stroke to pass on the knowledge he used to.
CPR confirmed to me at Allentown they will be making Tales Of The Arabian Knights. They were even handing out large posters of the CNC layout of the playfield with every purchase.

Because I don't want to go into competition with them. They are doing a fantastic job, and I don't want to get into the business and just end up diluting sales due to it being a small market. And to do so, I would have to get the same equipment they have, and invest as much.

Not going to happen.
How would it be competition if you did different playfields? If someone needs a pinbot playfield, then they'll buy it from you, and if they need a Fathom, they'll buy it from CPR.
Even if it were competition, competition is good. Stern is a monopoly, look how good they're doing!

Why not? There seems to be lots of room here since people are waiting on bated breath for the next release. Just make something they aren't going to. They don't seem to be able manage everything that is in demand out there.
From my perspective, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to what titles get produced. They are all over the map from older to newer and from high production to low production machines.
It seemed they were running with the older stuff that was popular but took a beating prior to Diamondplate, but TOTAN doesn't seem to fit in that market anywhere.
I would have put HS production way above TOTAN from a business mans perspective. I am starting to wonder if the direction is getting pushed from the free artist pool interests more than what the market wants.
Easy... not enough space, not enough money. I would need a HUGE garage to do this, and kick out my parents from my basement. All the time finding thousands of dollars to buy equipment.

I'd like a Joust personally...
.... and I know they have a designer working on it. but given the low productions number (402) I can't imagine the demand would be huge. (... then again, it's easier to justify spending $700+ on a PF for a $4000 machine, than $500 PF for a $1200 machine, so maybe all the Joust owners would want one...
In the meantime I've been hustling Mike with free eproms to get favors later on !

Oh, details details. I agree though. A project like that would need a group effort (a lot of it volunteer to get off the ground) and that shop we all keep dreaming of.
You got that right. Mike's got about 50-75K invested in the equipment - yes really. AFAIK it JUST got paid off (after 3 years) so you need disposable cash to get into this.

Count that project under the ''if I win the lottery'' category. Unfortunately, it is not on my ''things to do before I croak'' list.
