Well Brian first you can test to see that the +/- 100 VDC is on pins1,3 and 4 but I do not suggest my method of grabbing the display live around the top and lifting. Judging by the burn hole in my middle finger I say it met the nominal 90 to 105 Volt requirement which was later verified at 104 Volts with a more scientific approach. (Intentionally trying to drag this out to delay the unavoidable ugly avatar)

Power supplied: 1 Gnd, 3 -104 VDC, 4 +104VDC, 6 +5VDC verified moved on to check power at individual displays.

I know where and how to test displays...what was wrong to cause the problem, +/-104 shouldn't be the problem....so what was it or the ugly couple comes back naked

The previous owners dyslexia appeared to play a major role in the display issues. If you wire mess up backwards it just doesn't work very well.
