Wow - that's some idea you have going on there.  I'd say $10 is pretty cheap though -your expenses will have to exceed your income (I'm thinking).  If someone is willing to drive to see the place, I'm sure they'd spend more than 10 bucks though.  You can barely see a flick now for $10 and that only entertains you for a couple of hours.  Go big or go home my friend.  I recommend a membership (cheap mind you) for the die hards to feel like they hold a stake in your fantastic idea.  I mean you already have people here and on CGCC that use these forums for free - I'd personally pay to be part of something that would extend the arcade community.   Oh oh - how about "adopt a machine"??  Pay to have your name on a machine (not literally of course).  But why am I giving you advice, you are doing just fine on your own.

Impressive list of assets - looking forward to hearing about this place opening up.  I'll spread the word - and would probably hop on a plane for a visit myself.

Please keep us updated.

Thank you Eastside, appreciate it. To be straight with you, I am not only going to rely on admissions for income. I have about 20 other arcade related streams of income planned , with the museum as a launching pad for them, but I'll let you know about those in the very near future. I agree that 10$ is pretty low, however we want people to enjoy these, and keep it as reasonable as possible. Here are some figures to think about:

20 people per day = @ 6000 per month or about 7 people per each  4 hour session
30 people per day = @ 9000 per month or about 10 per each 4 hour session
50 people per day = @ 15000 per month or about 17 per each 4 hour session
100 people per day= hello Hawaii, good bye Canada

It adds up pretty fast, but so can the expenses!

Expense wise, we are looking to get a place for about 3000 per month max, optimum space is around 10,000 sq ft. I know this a little optimistic, but I am completely confident this can be pulled off.The membership idea is a good one we have already considered, pricing is going to be a real hard one though for that. I have already located places up to 8000 sq ft in the city of Toronto for 3000, including TMI, but the areas were sketchy, or they were basements , or zoning is an issue. I have also been in contact with 3 different guys that are sitting on large vacant buildings who are willing to do a partnership type deal, with no money upfront, but I am hesitant on this, as I would prefer to work with people that share my enthusiasm for the venture, and the hobby, not just greedy types who will try to pump me for everything if some money starts to roll in. I will keep you all posted on any developments. Any other questions, fire away.

thanks

The auction is over and there was a lots of deal there (sad deals in my view!).  Now the Fort Erie Times is going to write an article on the auction and the Penny Arcade. Finally I am going to be a piece of history.
For the people that missed out, I still have lots of video games from the arcade.  These are the one that were plug in but didn’t work (could be any thing, my helpers moved them back to make room for the auction).  There are up for sale $25 cheaper if you buy more!
Act fast (ONE WEEK!), else they will be gone. Don’t twiddle your fingers and miss out!!!
Bring your truck and trailer and load up. First come first serve!
Please don’t ask me for particular games or cabinets, too many and pack to tight together right now.
I took a lots of pictures but I can’t show you because they got all F#*&ing corrupted!!!

Time is running out, I’m moving my business to save money and I can’t take these games with me. What doesn’t get sold I will take out the game boards, power supplies, chassis, and of course the game headers, then scrape the rest. This is a shame, but I don’t have the room! Again bring cash, truck, trailer and load up!

I sent you a private message about some games. Didn't get a response. Check your "member center" and then inbox. You probably have interested parties in there like me.

Hey mark. Good meeting you today. I made a few phone calls and what your getting a bin for isn't that bad of a deal. I'll still call a few more places and see if I can get a better deal

Ok here's the dilleo guys. Most of the cabinets that mark has there are in really good condition whether the its the monitor that's shot or the power supply 25 bucks for the cabinet in its own is a really good deal in the sense that even if you got a really good condition cabinet with no working power supply or monitor you could probably sell the pcb for a few bucks and even throw in a cpu monitor and a 48 in 1 and still turn a huge profit. Some of the notables are a

mk1 dynamo
Mk3 dynamo
Nba jam te
A couple generic hs5 cabs
Some generic cabs with different boards including
Wwf superstars
Wwf wrestlefest
Altered beast
I think I saw a bad dudes
There was a galaga cab in decent shape with the odd swelling

I think mark is going to try to get all the cabs inside and lined up to make it a little easier to sort through

I will definately be back and I suggest that if you want one of the good ones you get there too.
