Hey Everyone
I am quite new to the hobby (6 weeks). I currently have WWH2O, CFTBL, and ToM. My wife says the wall in our games room that houses the pins is large enough for one more. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to round things out. I was thinking of CV but can't find one, also ToTAN, TAF, IJ and SS are ones I would be interested in based on reviews alone. Of the group I've only played IJ and TAF and only once for each of those. I would like some advice and guidance, on which to buy, from any members.

Thanks
Todd

That's really an impossible question to answer as everyone has diffrent reasons for liking a game, you need to figure out which game you like and work toward finding that one.

Of your list for me as a player I would pick IJ.  It's a great game with tons of modes, a fun multiball, the POA is a pretty fun toy, good worked in theme, some of the best video modes in pinball and difficult enough to keep you interestead for the long haul but easy enough to make it fin to play as well.

Second for me would be CV as it is another challenging game and I love the ability to stack all the diffrent multiballs.

TAF is one of my favorites but it is a pretty easy game.  I love mine and it isn't going anywhere but that has more to do with my own nostalgia then it's playablity.

TOTAN is not a machine I really enjoy, the modes are ok and the multiball is not bad, the game just doesn't do anything for me.  Other people rave about it but it's not for me.

SS not a game I would ever own in the home enviornment unless I was either a huge Elvira fan or had a large collection.  The game is much to easy, achiving Scared Stiff is pretty much a necessaitiy in order to have a decent scoroing game and I almost allwyas achive it during every game.  Completing the web is much more difficult and I have yet to do that.  I enjoy the game when I play it at other people's places but I would never own one.

End of the day I'd suggest finding the machines, either on location or at collectors homes and give them a try, that way you can play them and find out what machine you really enjoy isntead of basing your decision on the opinion of someone who might have a completley diffrent idea of what they consider a fun game then you.

Great collection, Todd. All the games you are looking for a great, although you will get differing opinions on which one is better. IJ is my favorite, but you cannot lose with anyone of them. Jvegas has a Totan for sale.

As Adam said, there are so many great games it's difficult to pin it down to only one. I agree with Adam's ordering and his assessment of the games especially SS. Honestly, the game is far too easy. Starting multiball is simply a matter of hitting the coffin xx amount of times and it's damn near impossible to miss it. At least with ToM, you have a risk of the ball returning SDTM after you hit the trunk. I don't find this with SS. Also, with SS you can continue to work towards the wizard mode while in MB. The end result is a fun location pin, but one I would find deadly dull at home.

I like Monkeybug's suggestions. Great games, everyone of them -- but I do have 3 of the 4 in my collection . Depending on your level of play, they may be on the harder side especially STTNG.

I have a CV and it's a great game. Absolutely love it. Very challenging to get the wizard mode -- at least on my mine -- as it's a side drainer. The home roms really make the game. Same deal with TZ.

If you you're wife is into pinball, why don't you see what she wants? If you are fortunate enough to have a partner that actually likes pinball, I would really put some effort into getting a game she likes.

hehehe  Well, Actually my Wife is very tolerant, as you might imagine, but She is a very good Player, and has trouble getting rid of games too. So, it works out, except for the lack of Space thing!

In all seriousness, out of your list, I like Addams and IJ, Both are fine games, and Very easy to sell if you decide they aren't for you. There is a reason they sold 20,000+ Addams Family games! But I would also look  for Attack From Mars, or Medieval Madness, they are so much fun, great flow, great speed, good humor, and very fun. Monster Bash fits in there too... None are cheap though, but again, I doubt you would have any trouble selling any of them if you don't like them.

WhirlWind is a Fun game too as is Black Knight 2000, Man, there are lots!! Go and play some if you are limited to a total of 4, if you aren't... See my previously posted message...

Don't forget some really good B list games.

Shadow and one of my fav's Johnny Mnemonic are great players games. I don't understand why JM gets no love. I play the crap out of mine.

Do not forget about No Fear also. Sometimes these games are harder to find than A-List games, because these games are resonably priced.

Hmmm. Supply and demand. I wonder how long they will go for cheap if there are few around?

I find play does not always equate to cost. Usually theme relates to cost as long as the play is reasonably good.
