I'll start...

1987 Bally City Slicker

It was a package deal with a Stern Wild Fyre (which my father bought)

Picked them up in Sorel

City Slicker is probably one of the WORST machines ever made...

We (father and I) no longer have our respective machines.

Frogdude

Current 'working' lineup: ( 2 )
Flipper Football, The Shadow

Gone but not forgotten: ( 22 )
City Slicker, Dirty Harry, CFTBL, Big Shot, Big Guns, Black Rose, Judge Dredd, Indianapolis 500,
Big Game, BS: Dracula x 2, Beat the Clock, Fire!, F-14 Tomcat, Getaway, Breakshot,

"Kiss" was the first pinball machine i ever played at a "Pop Shop" on the main street in town. I was always more into video games than pinballs as i found them alright  but not as fun as some of arcade games in those days and would rather keep my quarters for a good game of tempest, time pilot, qix ect.   but then one day i put a quarter into a  "highspeed" and i was blown away!

For me, it was Stern Dracula.  I had it up until last month when I traded it for a Gottlieb EM.

Hummmm, i remember clearly my first video games but my first pins......
I can say that the first pins that impress me a lot are Flight 2000 and Xenon !!
I play pinball like Evel Kneivel, 6 Millions dollar man and Star trek before that.
I remember the fabulous Bally like Fathom, Space Invaders or Elektra.
There's a lot more but i cannot remeber all.

Royal Flush .. EM
1st pin I've ever played .... one I'm still lookin to own,
in decent shape, but of course for a 1976 i'm still searching.
I prolly could have owned one back then for the amount
of bucks we used to throw into it. (but who didn't blow alot of
coin at the local arcade)

I have owned a ton of SS's since, and still do, but that one
EM has some nostalgia!

Playing in arcades 1978-1983 or so in Montreal's east end, some in tough neighboorhoods. Mostly pinballs, some that actually have become classics & collectable today (Fathom, Centaur, Haunted House, Flash Gordon, Eight Ball Deluxe, Orbitor 1, Black Knight, SpiderMan, etc.).
Played very little with video arcade games back then. I was awful and felt my hard-earned 0.25c didn't bring much enjoyment with those games (surely because I was terrible at them!)

1st game owned: 1968 Williams 'Daffie', EM pinball one-player, back in 1982. One drop target, zipper-flippers, return gate. Paid $130 as-is non-working from a flea market at the time.  Took me a while to fix that one, as it was my first.
We kept the game approx 2 years and played 1000s of games with family & friends. I finally sold it in the end, grew tired of the game... Fully working with new rubbers & bulbs, for $200...
Then I moved to an appartment....  No kitchen table and chairs, but hey, I purchased a Flash Gordon pinball for the kitchen  (can you tell I was single back then  Ohhh the memories...

Haaa, these games are so much fun, I like the art, design, technology, repairs and play.
Basically it is nostalgia and pure fun both fixing & playing these marvels!

In fact, while I had three different Flash Gordon machines in the last 20 years,
I would like to get another nice one, soon...  with over 10000 produced, it is a machine fairly easy to find...

Happy Flipping,
Cheers,
- Sylvain

First pinball I got (one of two that I owned) was a non-working Firepower. A friend had bought it at a church auction thinking it worked. He got it home and found out it didn't. So it sat in his basement for close to a year. When he had to move he gave me the machine for free. From there my brother in law and I spent about a month trying to get it working (thank God for Marvin's site, it was a life saver). I had never played Firepower as a kid, but we loved it. For an old pin it was a ton of fun. Decided to sell it because the back glass and playfield were a bit rough and I found it was just too tempermental and it seemed like I was always fixing something on it. If I could find one completely shopped in nice shape I'd probably get another one.
