What would be your preference if you didn't have either of these games in your collection? Say they were roughly priced the same and the No Good Gofers was in much better condition. Keep in mind also that you love golf and can't get enough of it in the summer.
Personally I enjoy both these games but am leaning toward a No Good Gofers, maybe because the novelty of Addams Family has worn off for me a bit and NGG is for me still full of surprises. And after a round of golf I think it would be a blast to have a few drinks and play this game. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to sway your opinion or anything you just have to pretend to like golf to make your opinion valid. Well what do you think? |

TAF Pat Lawlor in training diapers. NGG Pat Lawlor graduates from college.
TAF (except gold) plentiful, another one will come along. May have peaked on price. NGG rarer, might be looking quite some time for a decent one. Undervalued in my opinon.
NGG all the way.
The only thing I can think of that pushes the price of TAF ahead of where it should be is nostalgic value. There were so many of them, everybody played one when they were on route. Personally I would go as far to say if you have TZ you probably would be better off buying something other than TAF to have more variety in your collection.
There are many unattractive design issue about TAF that I just dont get. Like the speaker panel graphics and the chair...it should have had uncle Fester in it complete with lightbulb that functioned. |

I actually know of more NGG's here in ontario that people own/for sale then I've ever seen people with TAF owning. Only ever seen 1 TAF for sale in ontario in recent times. If I could only have one I'd have TAF over NGG. |

With NGG. Lawlor took some notes from Ritchie. It flows and keeps coming at you. There is no start and stop ala this little vignette is here to entertain you, during which you aren't playing anymore. In TZ they are cool, because the theme is ultra cool. If go beyond recent events and the limits of Ontario the production numbers cannot be ignored. NGG theme may not have the same macho appeal that TAF does for guys. I mean grown men (and women) laughing at a couple of gopher's is probably a little hard to grasp over TAF for some people. I stand by my little rude plastic gopher toys with pride. |

So by your comment, all the games pre-TAF sound like they should be ignored (Banzai Run, Easrthshaker, Whirlwind and Funhouse). And all games post-NGG are examples Lawlor with his P.H.D.? (Monopoly, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Ripleys, Nascar). I prefer NGG over TAF but I really wonder where you come up with these analogies? |

It's was a joke. If you followed an earlier forum the comparison was made by mrhide that TAF was a practice run before TZ. There are guys that are complaining bitterly about Pat's designs being produced by Stern. He is definately hit and miss and almost a reverse analogy would probably be arguable. I just find in general the merit of TAF vs his other offerings gets overated and not to dismiss a good game because the rest of the community is horny about something else. Go out and try before you buy to figure out what is good for you. Glad to see you are paying attention Monkeybug. |

I have an AF, and it isn't going anywhere. I am looking for NGG and will buy when I find one, so I reserve judgement until then. The AF Theme is great! The "Power" Magnets are so cool, and I don't know of anyother games that incorporate the knocker into the game. (Seance) I might be wrong here.
