SABLAGE!!!! You guys are going to have to explain to me in detail how to do this clearcoating job, sanding the playfield really scares me. HELP!

When there is playfield part that is on bare wood and the first sanding is done ( I did it with a magic earaser it ' s like sanding with 1000 wett grit paper do I need to put body filler and primer on the naked wood and sand again ? And then do the touch up re-sand and then finaly clearcoating it ?
