even funnier is the first guy (or maybe was the second nib purchaser) eventually puts the machine on ebay within 12 months and barely fetches $2400. All because everybody knows there's a couple NIB's still left in the warehouse. NIB just isn't what is used to be

No kidding.

This will probably sell for over $5K mainly because 2 people who reeeeaaaallly want it will enter into a bidding war (it's already started...).

I dunno...I look at my BK that I picked up recently and can't begin to fathom how someone can justify spending $4k over the average selling price of a used BK in nice shape, just to have bragging rights.  

But who is there left to brag to?
