My favorite "ERA" was the 80's when Arcades ruled.
FirePower, BK and Gorgar (early 80's SS) had a lasting impact on me.
High Speed and Pinbot were long-time favorite later in that decade
I really enjoyed playing pins in arcade during the 80's.
So the best "ERA" of pinball for me was 80's.
As for which pins I like most NOW, it's the newer stuff (DMDs / Pin2K) will all the toys.
So depending on the intent of the question, I have two answers.
Best "ERA" : 80's arcade pins
Best "Pins" : Newer DMD Stuff

Exactly what Steph said..

I'm confused. At what point did you become a lawyer or politician. That's about as indecisive as you can get. Why not have a most fun to tilt category and best flipper button category in there too.

I'm sorry if all those big 4-5 letter words confused you Necro, I'll try to use less "legal-eze" next time...
What part of "ERA" don't you understand ... ?
I most enjoyed playing pins during the 80's (...that's an "ERA" ).
But given the choice of pins to play now, I'd choose DMDs. ... although I find playing in my games room does not have as much "excitement" and when I played pinballs in the arcades...
Sheeessssh,... I never thought I'd have to explain that so plainly...
