How about the Canadian National Junior Hockey Team in the tourney in Sweden?  That semi-final game against the US will definitely go down as one of the all time greats (At least for Canadians)!

They were absolutely out played by the US team in the overtime period.  12 shots to 2 and their shots came in the last minute.  They were lucky to get to shots.  That being said, the shoot out was the most exciting I have ever seen with some amazing shots just inside the post by both teams.  Good luck in the finals.

Yeah they definitely were outplayed by the US in the overtime period but their goalie came up big once again.  The shootout was pretty exciting with Toews scoring three times on three chances including the game winner.

I for one will be tuning into the God Medal Game against Russia on Friday, Noonish.  Anyone else tuning into this game?

Well an unbelievable finish for the Canadians, winning yet another Gold medal.  They came out flying and definitely got the jump on the Russians with four unanswered goals.  The Russians had the top power-play in the tournament and came back with two power play goals to make it a game. From the midway point of the second period the pressure seemed to be on the Canadians who got one penalty after another, and the Russians seemed to dominate the game. If not for the play of the Canadian netminder, the Canadians would have been in trouble.  Price however came up big again and again, and definitely help win Gold for Canada, and was named tournament MVP.

At the world Juniors Canada now has a record of 18 straight wins.  Yeah that's 18 straight wins, which is incredible for international competition.  They have even matched the Russian Juniors who had a record in the  recent past of 3 consecutive Gold medals.

The World Junior Hockey Championship always pumps me up, hockey at its best.  These guys play their hearts out and put it all on the line.  Yeah Canada!
