Well my six year old son had 5 friends over yesterday afternoon and they spent a few hours playing pinball and wouldn't you know it each and every one of them preferred my 70's Bally Flicker Machine over my TZ and Cue Ball Wizard. Go figure! I guess it is the simplicity, slower flow and of course the chimes. (sigh)
Well I have to agree about the chimes anyway. There really is something majestic in the old EM chimes. If I had the room (and the money) I would love to have a very nice EM collection.
To each their own I guess! At least everyone preferred the pins over the Wii!
Pins owned: Bally - Twilight Zone (1993) Williams - Star Trek The Next Generation (1993) Bally - Scared Stiff (1996) Stern - Lord of the Rings (2004)
My g/f's 9 year old son went with me to a pinball auction/tournament thing last year in K-Zoo, MI and couldn't stand the older pins. He thought they were boring lol.
I recently bought a PS3, first time having a console since I was probably 13 years old, when the Genesis was out (I think that's around that age, either way the Genesis was the last one i owned) and I'm 29 now. I gotta tell ya, while it was nice at first, i still go back to playing my pins more than the video games, and I have B-list pins...for the money it took me to get the PS3 and a couple games I should have just bought another pin .
Owning: Pinslot 1: Terminator 2 Pinslot 2: Demolition Man
Gone But Not Forgotten: Judge Dredd Tales from the Crypt
