It would depend on the rulesI would be very interested, would even drive to Montreal if the weather/time permits but personally, it would depend on the rule set used.

I play poker once a month with some friends but our goal is NOT to get rich or make serious money or to put each other in debt but we do play for a few bucks to make it competitive.  Our main focus, we play for fun and as a good exercise in socializing.  Example of our fun poker night.

-     We play two tournaments
-     Each tournament is $20 each
-     No rebuys, that way you cannot lose more than $40 on the night, which is cheaper than a good night out drinking eheh
-     Typical tournament rules, process of elimination and depending on how many are playing determines the payout scaled.  I think typically its:
o     1st place 50% of the pot
o     2nd place 30%
o     3rd place 20%
-     ie: weve had times when we were 16 people playing (two tables set up) so the payout where rather nice for those that feel thats important
-     #1 rule:  house does not skim off the top, nada, no cut; the pot gets split evenly amongst the winners.  There are specific laws and all we need is to have a fun time ruined because a neighbour complained, so were legit, keeps it fun that way.

Im open to different rule sets, however personally, the house gets no cut off the top is a good one, because of legal issues, and I personally like no buy-ins, so that we know in advance the max we can lose, keeps everyones whos got bad gambling habits (I consider myself a potential problem gambler) under check.  I am open to different styles of play and buy-ins amount, just personally want to limit my loses, I still have to save for that first pin .

I personally never play for more than 20$ a game. Sometimes 10$+ 1 buy-in, depends. Any more and it often gets ugly... I once forfaited a 15000$ pot becuase the guy was so convinced he was winning, he put his car on the line. I beat him with a nut flush, ace high. I told him to keep his car... I just took the pot chips. Never saw that guy again.

I honestly just wanted to probe for interest. I don't have a fancy poker table, just a big kitchen table. I do have chips though.

Might never happen, just checking.

That's some story, 1 buy-in doesn't sound too bad.  Anyway, I'm interested depending on time, I'll keep an eye out on this thread .  Kitchen table is ok

No more than 4 poker player on MAACA? Come on, I'm not a good poker player, I can't bluff and always flop hands... you will make enough money to pay any pinball you want (if we play 2 weeks non-stop of tournament

but if we can have at least 6 players it can be a good night of fun.
