I thought I would post about my Fathom playfield adventures. It is just too funny. I posted 2 Fathom playfields for sale on RGP and I got 78 (yes... seventy-eight!!) emails asking me for extra pics and details, even though I am selling these at half the rate they go for usually. I have answered all of them.

Most are asking me questions that are answered in the thread. Only one has come forward and offered to buy it, but can't pay me until May 1st. But I was planning on selling these to help finance the A-Town trip...

Classic quotes:

"I have a Fathom worn down to the wood and green all over and your playfield would add more value to my game than the cost of your playfield, but do you have more pics? Are you flexible on the price? Can you ship for free to Washington state?"

"You are selling for way too less... I don't trust you."

"What do you mean by pre-CPR?" (even though I clearly described it all in the post)

... anyhow, whatever... If someone here still wants one, PM me. I have one that has sanding scratches I am touching up and I already have 3 coats of clear and it is now smooth.

Without going through the trouble of trying to find what you posted, what do you mean by pre-CPR? Pre-CPR to me says a repro playfield before CPR repro'd them. Is that what you mean?

Necro- Dont be a tire kicker!

Some (not all) Americans are delusional that we here in Canada will value their dollar like it was in 2001. I see how they treat the sales reps in my office every day. Canada is just one huge McDonald's to them. Would you like fries with that sir?

My advice to them, get a bunch of Mexicans to do the job! (I have heard that said all to often by them too).

Life is just  one fast food outlet after the other.

Why not bring them to Allentown?

I bet they will sell there.

Cheers,
Duane

Yes, they would sell, but I don't want to have to stand beside them all weekend to do so. Now, if I were bringing LOTS of playfields, then yes, I would set up in the flea market. But I plan on enjoying myself.

I have one member that has posted interest. The other playfield will probably go to the guy in California that offered to buy it after May 1st, unless someone comes forward.

Heck... I am even open to a trade for a project pin. I prefer classic Sterns, but any offer will be considered.

Put some straps on the playfields and wear it on your back with a 'For Sale' sign on it, like a sandwich board. Fun times!

At 1000$? No thanks. I can get two that work 100% for that much.

Great... now I am conflicted. One guy has offered me a Split Second which has been sitting for 2 years in exchange for a playfield.

Classic Stern, but one problem... I HATE F***ING CLOWNS!!!

what is the book value for one anyways? My book is at home...
