M.A.A.C.A. Pinball Tournament Not-So-Official Rules
There are 3 "awards" up for grabs:
?The M.A.A.C.A. Pinball Cup? for the tournament Grand Champion, most points ?The Multiball? award, for best team overall ?The Gottlieb? perseverance award, for the player with the lowest points.
Grand Champion with the most points wins the MAACA cup, and a prize. Simple.
Teams are made of 4 players by of your own choice. Basically, the team with the highest score wins the Multiball cup and a prize. Easy...
Worst player gets the Gottlieb award, and as a consolation prize, gets his meal and a beer on us! Now THERE is an incentive to suck!
Now, how this goes down... Basically, the number of players we are determines how many machines and rounds we play. For example, if we are 24, that is 6 teams of 4, so 6 machines. If we are 26, we try to have a minimum of 3 players on a machine, so it would be 5 teams of 4 and 2 teams of 3, so 7 machines.
The points system works in the following way: - Every player must play, along with their team, on every machine involved in the tournament once. - The player's scores are all registered on the score board. - Points work this way... for every machine, we attribute points according to the players' scores. If you are 20 players in the tournament, the best score on a machine gets 20 points, second best on that same machine gets 19 points, 3rd gets 18 points, etc. These points are attributed on every machine played. - Once all points are given, we calculate the totals tournament points of each player on all games. HIghest total wins Grand Champion, best team total wins the Multiball Cup.
If teams are of uneven members, like a few teams of three when other teams are 4, an average of present player scores will be made to make a ghost player.
HOST HANDICAP!!!: 10% of the score of the host on each game played will be deducted in order to ?even the playfield?. If they don?t like it, they can kiss my a**! ; )
High Score Mystery Prize!!!: Here is a little one I cooked up... GAME-SHOW STYLE! Basically, the scores will be noted on each machine. So basically, if there are 4 machines played, there will be 4 high scores. A great game can now pay up!
RULES!!! (Aww mess?)
A referee (yeah... riiiiight) will be checking each game played to see if everything goes fine. Mostly to check for a game malfunction of some kind, but there to warn if rules are not followed. If another person is being overly disruptive, he may be expelled from the tournament if the administrators and the disrupted player see fit to do so.
When a competitor is playing a game, there must be no disruptive behaviour like yelling at the player, no pushing, bumping or slapping the player, no leaning on the machine, or anything that can bother the player. Talking and joking are OK (making him laugh or mess his pants are also OK!!!, just don?t go overboard).
If a minor game malfunction occurs that doesn?t advantage nor disadvantage a player, signify it to one of the admin who will see what to do.
If a ball stays trapped, a player can either try to get it unstuck at his own risk, or ask that the glass be removed, and the referee will place the ball where a player can resume his game, usually in the shooter lane.
If a major malfunction occurs during the first round on a machine, and it cannot be repaired, a player vote will be made to either have the teams play on another machine or simply ignore the scores made on that machine for all teams altogether.
Players must refrain from playing the machines with greasy potato-chip hands or after they have picked their nose, scratched their a** or given a wet-willy, for safety and hygiene reasons!
Every player must have drunk at least one beer? 0.5 BEER counts.
...If anybody can think of more bureaucratic bullshit to put in here, gimme a shout!
