Was sitting in an office chair leaning back on a desk touching an adjoining wall. First thought was it must be a really fat person pushing on the wall enough to shake my chair. I remember another mil;d one here years ago as well.

The building here at work shook a lot - moving quit a bit horizontally for a few seconds (I'm on the 3rd floor). Not a good feeling swinging on a top level. Must have been worse downtown Ottawa in tall rises.
I was concerned that if it was worse/stronger or continued longer, there could/would have been a lot of damage/injuries, inc. natural gas leaks, etc.
Luckily, there are no report of serious things, yet anyway (and hopefully it will stay that way!)
There could be some aftershocks, however typically they are much weaker.
Cheers, - Sylvain.
Looking for 1966 Bally Capersville, 1967 Bally The Wiggler, 1981 Stern Viper, 1986 Pinstar Gamatron, 1986 Williams Grand Lizard, 1991 Williams Bride of Pinbot, and a few others. Cash or some trades available. Could also repair a machine of yours +/-$ if needed, in exchange for one machine on my want list, non-working/unshopped welcome!
My first earthquake in a high rise.. It was definitely different than on the ground. Usually you feel the shift from side to side (and you hear it). This time it was more of an up-and-down bounce with no sound.. Kinda like riding in a truck on a shitty dirt road.. The building was getting some harmonic bounces too, like hitting a pothole.. Freaky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No hack on anyone here but people were freaking out...some said a bomb went off, others refused to back into the shoppers drug mart I was at; foolish.
I am from Vancouver and I have been in quite a few quakes, although this one was a good shake. Anyway, like Sylvain said it is rare that follow up quakes (Aftershocks) are very big, especially if you are not on a big fault line.
Good fun though to see all the stuff on the floor in the store and seeing people over react. Must have been terrorism.
