Man I hate Sunday nights. I'm 37 and still feel like a 10 year-old who has to go to school the next morning.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Your 10 years-old. Dinner is done, Disney is just ending and your starting to think of school the next day..oh yuck!
Then that familiar theme song comes on...Yup it's the Beachcombers, it's soft brassy tune hitting you right in the gut...awww I'm going to have to go to bed soon, I don't wanna go to school tomorrow.
I always got depressed on Sunday nights but I made myself feel somewhat better by thinking of how great it would be when I was all grown up and didn't have school to look forward to on monday.
Ha! what a dope I was, I'm 37 now going on 50 and I still get bummed on sunday night, only it's worse...awww I'm going to have to go to bed soon, I don't wanna go to work tomorrow.
Now I imagine myself winning the lottery or retired, man wont it be great when I don't have to look forward to work on monday morning. How sad is that, I've spent the majority of my life daydreaming myself along into the grave. Sigh...Those Bruno Gerussi Blues are a real b****!
Adam (looking for his warm milk...stupid sunday night...stupid work)

I used to feel like that. Now I actually look forward to Sunday nights because of the pinball chat on Yahoo. Makes me stay up late tho..

Man... I had forgotten all about that show... it was awesome! Can't remember off hand the host's name, but I remember that he was completely nuts!!! Too bad Canadian TV has gotten somewhat boring today...
John Byner great tv show with Super Dave Osborne was one of my favorites dont forget The Bigot Family. ah memories were good despite severy show felt the same with almost the same skits but canadian tv has improved right? gotta go the littlest hobo is on....
You left out the part about the Irish Rovers on the Sunday night lineup. now i will have the nightmares that i thought i had permanently erased.
If i remember 1981 correctly, the only good thing about mondays was Bizarre on CTV that was years after the classic CBC sunday night lineup.
I tried to avoid the Rovers if possible, even a bath looked good during their time slot! I also omitted Tommy Hunter which I seldom watched... Sorry I can't come to the T.V right now I'm cleaning my room.
Bizarre was good but I enjoyed SCTV more.

Technically, it wasn't canadian tv. Bizarre was an american cable show that was just produced in Toronto with Canadian talent. All the t-shirt bits (between byner and the buxom bosoms du jour) were not censored on american cable.

...Shows you how much things change... Janet Jackson shows a little breast (and an ugly one at that... her skin looks gray for God's sake... ) and Americans lose their minds. Over here, we saw that and said "what's the big deal... it's a breast with a jumper cable connection... uhh... nipple ring".
Anyways... John Byner was a GOD!!! ...Still remember his entrances when the wall would raise up and reveal him, and he would grab it and hang off of it while it went up... Man, they should play reruns of that show on those "Deja View" and "Prime TV" channels I get on the dish...
