what do you think of the game: Really? what are the common problems of the game and DE in general? What to look for when purchasing? What should one cost in canadian, the local market & availabilty?

#1 Its a fun game but you have to like the theme. The raptor shot keeps you on your toes. #2 The only universal problem with this game that I'm aware of is the T-Rex has problems eating the ball occasionally. If the t-rex motor is busted its expensive to resource. Also the shaker motor is busted or missing. I don't own a DE but my friend tells me that its common for the speakers to humm or buzz. #3 Things to look for: working t-rex working shaker motor excessive wear near the cellar/outholes (forget what the shot names are called, computer lab or something) topper most are missing missing amber plastic at top of PF teradactyls ... they are usually removed when the op removes the ramps .. sometimes they are in the wrong location or missing. I believe there should be three. hope that helps #4 & #5 No idea sorry |

I love the JP allot it the one game I want. When I worked in the arcade the bigest problem we had was keeping the dam T-Rex from breaking down it would break down every other day. From what i have seen in pricing the normally go for arround 2k in good condition. I missed one that was 950 but needed allot of work new dmd and motor for trex needed to be replaces the vibrator motor also needed to be changed When i did get the cash it was gone So i got new winter tires |

I have one and really enjoy it. I've had it almost a year now and the kids still love it. It is clearly their favorite game.
From a game play perspective it has alot going for it. There are alot of modes and most are quite fun. It has a video mode that is fun. Basically a dino walks across the screen while you are playing and you have to grab the gun handle and shot him w/o losing a ball. It has two muliball modes, and a wizard mode. Plus the T-Rex is one of the coolest toys in pinball -- I love it! Even after a year I am still amazed that they got it to move left and right, go down, pick up a ball WITH it's mouth, then close it's mouth. Very cool! Plus it has a shaker motor!
I believe price has already been mentioned. I have seen them come up cheap occasionally, but they tend to be in the $1,600 to $2,000 range for a nice one. Mine wasn't cheap, but it was advertised as HUO (and looks it).
In terms of issues, I cann't really comment as (knock on wood) there haven't been any major issues. I have read that the T-Rex can be an issue, but alot of the parts are still available.

1) One of DE's Best games if not the best. My Personal favourite DE game, loved the movie and I love the pinball
2) Heat issues - Doesnt really apply so much in the home environment. Under playfield relays are susceptible to coldjoints/broken traces due to shaker motor.
3) Fans installed in the head? Outhole wear, broken T-rex Head. Shaker motor (should have a cover on it)
4) 1200-1800 CDN |

Guess the T-rex portion of JP is just for show then? Last I checked WW didn't have a pinball eating dino.
And JP doesn't have the fan you are correct Mark, that is if you aren't playing yours! (but I'm trying to correct that!)

I have both and they play very differently. No question, the layout for JP is a direct copy of WW with elements from TAF as well (T-rex vs. Thing). I really like both games. WW doesn't have as many modes, but the spinning disks are well integrated into the game and I love how the ball gets dropped on a spinner (when shot up the side ramp) forcing you to pay attention. I also love the fan. Really works well. Funny story on the fan...my oldest son was outside and the wind was blowing fierce. He says, "Daddy it's like Whirlwind out here". Damn, that was funny!
