All was not lost after going to the disapointing pinball outlet sale. starbust/playdium showroom is very close by, stopped in there. It's much better then their old location. Lots of games to play. Got to play the new IJ4!
Fun game, lots of cool toys...couldnt quite figure out what to do wtih the shot at the magnet, but it looked good, played nice!
Currently ~~ The Addams Family ~~ Monster Bash Wanted ~~ MORE! Once there is enough room! 2 pins in a 2 bed apt is enough
Playdium on Ronson Road (401/Kippling) is open saturday I think 10-5 and sunday 12-5 (not sure about the exact sunday hours) Unfortunately the parts dept is closed...really just show room is open, there was only 1 person working

Let's not forget Genesis. But at least it was done by one photographer. Those who collect movie memorabilia won't be disappointed. And at leas tthey captured "the" best scene in all of the series.

90% of the translite is from Raiders. The 'artist' knew what he was doing.

Yeah, Shadow, Congo, Johnny Mnemonic, BSD, DM and T2 are sooo much better.
So what your saying is this is just as fugly as any of those? I believe artist like John Youssi, Kevin O'Connor, Doug Watson etc. rendered these drawings by hand.
The drawn realistic style is only slightly better than the photoshop job, IMO. Since the invention of the photograph, do we need art that depicts reality exactly? Art should show us something new, or something old in a new way. I much prefer my WH2O and Mars Trek translite to my S translite. Would the S translite be worse if it was a photoshop job? I dunno, but I doubt it. I don't mind Stern saving $ in areas that don't really matter, like the translite. Anything to keep the machines coming!

i concur with Jonny_eh, if the translite is where they need the pennies pinched in order to get another "toy" into the game, or spend more money on programming, then by all means do it.
As Stern has stated repeatedly, they are not catering to the collector market, they are focused on attracting new players on location. I would think that most location players would have an easier time identifying "photoshopped" pictures on a translite vs. an original drawing(which I personally do prefer but I am not a very frequent location player ie who Stern is catering to). In the end we all want more new machines produced and if that means that we will have to endure more translites like this in exchange for more and better games with more toys then I can accept that.
Maybe I am an exception, but I spend 99% of my time looking at the silver ball flying around vs. looking at the Translite. Looks will fade but gameplay will always be #1 in my books
